According to data from MUSO, there were 921,994 unlicensed viewers in the UK. Joshua's parents hail from Nigeria, which had the biggest share of 2.35m. The worldwide total is the highest since MUSO began tracking boxing in 2017, beating the 9.98m for the Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder fight in December. The UK is third on the list of audiences by country behind Kenya (998,027), with 93% of the worldwide audience using YouTube. "We saw how popular the Fury v Wilder fight was across piracy networks," said Muso's chief executive and co-founder, Andy Chatterley. "The Joshua v Ruiz fight has been the largest unauthorised audience that we've ever tracked across boxing and it's staggering to see that 93% of the audience watched via YouTube. "The official pay-per-view audience figures have yet to be published, but this is a massive audience that's being ignored. "This highly engaged audience offers up huge insight and perhaps, more importantly, significant commercial opportunity."

Maybe further proof that boxing on TV is the ultimate way to go. Use advertising $$ to make your revenue. Agree! Have to do like NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL... put your biggest games (Fights) on TV or FREE and generate money from Commercials and Exclusive Network Deal

gotta love it....AJ gets his ace kicked and these guys are bragging about how many people saw it and how its trending you guys ever seen that video where the black guy is talking trash to a couple of chubby white guys in a gas station parking lot....shouting "im from NY *****"? and then one of them pummels the everloving snot out him? that video was a viral sensation...I doubt the black guy is running around showing his friends and bragging about how proud he is of it being known for losing and getting trashed isn't something anyone wants...yet somehow these guys are clinging to AJ for being some sort of hero for it...lol...I guess you have to grab at anything when your hero is revealed to be a bum aj is a huge success! cept when it comes to having to do vada testing and then fighting chubby americans in America.... He did earn $25 million against Ruiz and should earn a similar amount in the rematch. I think he's fine lol.

Long term maybe the Mexican solution is the best. In Mexico I watched Canelo/Jacobs on free commercial tv. Only drawback was that the commercials ran longer than 1 minute between rounds so by the end of the fight the broadcast was more than a round behind. as long as your not on social media or your buddy didnt text spoilers this shouldnt be a problem?

And most of the US based was people illegally posting video replays of the fight on websites like YouTube after it was over. Actually if you look at the numbers for the US. There were 600k illegal views for Joshua Vs Ruiz and 1,9 mio illegal views for Fury Vs Wilder. Not paying for s hit Am sure Joshua would probably fight in Africa one day, I heard he is massive over there, and him with his “Black superior” race thing would want to do that as well. What is IPTV and how does it work? He should fight in Africa before he calls it quits. It will be a massive event there.

Wow! 13 mil? That's an insane number! It comes to show that it's not necessarily people tuning away from the product but are not willing to shell out the cash for it. But I'm surprised because like some of you said, DAZN was supposed to reduce this or at least work as a deterrent for people. Why? Because for a fraction of a PPV price tag, fans are being encouraged to get the big fight and plus more. The hardcore boxing fan would benefit more from getting the yearly plan which is just above the regular PPV price. But even then people aren't willing to pay up lol. I'm wondering if anything will ever deter illegal streaming. You'd think DAZN out of all of the networks would effectively cut back on this. But hey, in all honesty I've streamed the PPV's too but I got DAZN so not this one lol

This is the way forward streaming everything especially in countries like Nigeria, If you are stuck on normal TV you are stuck behind the real world. Smart TV has everything these days. Probably North Korea would even have smart TV for streaming soon enough. Disappointing the smart TV I bought for my bedroom doesn't have DAZN SMH. It's a 2019 model as well I believe. Yeah, I shut off DAZN and found a free stream too. Better video quality, no buffering issues/QUOTE] really? that's pathetic if that's true. dazn ought to be ****ing ashamed. i've had loading issues with catalogued fights that made them unwatchable, but never with a live event. i'd be pissed.

... I'm following the "online IT technology" since mid '90's... There's nothing to be done against "illegal streaming"... The only real solution consists in huge gate money!!! This is the only real answer!!! Long term maybe the Mexican solution is the best. In Mexico I watched Canelo/Jacobs on free commercial tv. Only drawback was that the commercials ran longer than 1 minute between rounds so by the end of the fight the broadcast was more than a round behind. Going back a couple decades, big domestic fights in the UK were screened live on terrestrial TV and watched by audiences of up to 20million. Big audiences = big license fees. UK fighters like Benn, Eubank, Bruno and McGuigan became household names and millionaires from the ad money and license fees paid for their fights.
