What do you think guys, do you really think this is possible? Ruiz wants it, but lets be honest for a moment... British fans along with the majority of other people don't want to travel to a dangerous third world country and I highly doubt any of the natives of Mexico would have the money to pay for the tickets to this, nor do I believe they'd add much to the PPV numbers.
So, why are people so set on this happening in Mexico, what do they have to gain from it being in an undesirable place? Right now I'd consider AJ already having fought in Ruiz backyard, so there is no reason for this to happen.
Wembley, Britain is obviously the best location for this fight. Ruiz gains much more from this, he does the following from this -
Fights away from home just like AJ did
Gets a much higher percentage of the PPV
Maximise the total PPV buy-rate
Gains more respect for fighting an away fight just like Joshua did
Granted, I don't believe Ruiz wins the rematch regardless of the location. I just find it bizarre that people want it to happen there, it benefits nobody happening there the fight is too big for Mexico, facts.
My first reaction is that it isn't realistic BUT can you imagine the live gate if the fight were held at Aztec stadium in Mexico City? With the extra field seats added to the nearly 90,000 seats already there, the fight might challenge the attendance record of 120,000 for Dempsey/Tunney.
On the other hand, can you imagine these two trying to fight at an elevation of 7,200 feet? ...yeah forget that idea. Do it in Vegas
Vegas is where the fight should be
I get this & agree, but if Joshua gets blasted out by Ruiz again there isn't going to be much fanfare for Joshua's next US fight or in him being a potential player in the US market which is DAZN likely wants Joshua to be so they can do a long term deal with him.
And Ruiz isn't gonna be the draw Joshua could be & is likely just going back across the street when he's not obligated to fight on DAZN anymore.
So basically what good does a rematch in the US do DAZN if Joshua loses a 2nd time & Ruiz goes to PBC?
I think you gotta lean towards letting Joshua get the fight in as favorable situation as you can so Joshua can get his belts back ideally (which based on that L idk if I favor that to happen) & attempt a US 2.0 debut at a future date or you just forgo the rematch completely & make a all or nothing fight vs Wilder or Fury in the US that bounces Joshua ahead of Ruiz without needing to fight him again so soon if he were to win. That'd be a gamble for Joshua, but I think its a gamble he might be willing to take. I get the feeling Joshua doesn't look to take too many L's in his career so if he loses another fight or two maybe he retires & does some new sh^t. He's made too much money to be too f#cked up to not be able to count it.
First off , you never answered me
Did you see Ruiz shush his corner man so he can hear clearly what his trainer was saying
I don’t think I ever saw that in my life , that’s was fughin classic
Ok now , I get perfectly what your saying and this loss puts Dazn in a compromising situation
I just think Dazn is much bigger than AJ and probably want that last cashout with him on board
Make it or break it
Imo , they need to stay here and the show must go on
That’s the whole reason of them pouring this money out
By them not having the fight in America goes against everything they are attempting to do
I personally think , if this fight is promoted right , this thing could be fughin huge
Vegas , fight week , get the fighters on late night shows , get them on fughin Sesame Street , plaster them all over the place , bleed the fughin monkey dry
Ruiz , the fat Mexican heavyweight champion of the world, was it a fluke or will he eat his way to victory
Joshua , the poster boy for muscle , can he beat his demons and regain his titles
Anyways you get what I’m saying , so many ways of promoting this
It’s now , they gotta regroup and get this chit going
I really think this can be really really huge
Just gotta do it
Definitely.
I think a NYC rematch isn't off the short list either.
But I think the early favorite rematch location is on Joshua's turf. I think after taking an L like that its not even a great idea to do a immediate rematch but if you do you wanna put as many things in your favor as possible & the first one would be location.
Ruiz won, but lets not forget Joshua is STILL the money guy so he gots major pull if its not already defined where the fight is to take place at in the contract.
True but AJ is probably best served to wait a while. I saw the replay and Ruiz was doing things AJ just couldn't handle. If Ruiz did this to him, imagine what Fury or Usyk would do or Wilder with his power.
AJ is still the money guy but right now the 4 fights people want to see most that would earn him the most money- Wilder, Ruiz rematch, Fury and Usyk- are not really good options right now.
Take some time, learn some skill, fight whyte in England. Win that and then if Ruiz is still champ, pay him extra to fight in England.
Ruiz already is set for life from that payday he got for jumping in short notice, but the money he would get for a fight in UK would be substantially more.
The ball is in his court so to speak, rematch has to happen If AJ wants it to. I think it would be a lot more than just a bit more money for it to happen in the UK.
Your all forgetting the biggest factor , the engine that could
Dazn
Skipper wants to conquer the States not Mexico or UK
I think that would end up backfiring for Dazn
For what one fighter , they’ll be many more AJ’s to come especially if Dazn is in this for the long run
Unrealistic.
If it wasn't put in the contract that the rematch has to take place in the UK, then I think Ruiz's team and DAZN will push for the fight taking place in the states. And obviously Joshua's team will push for the UK. They may even offer Ruiz a bit more money for it to take place in the UK.

I don’t think it has any chance of being made for these two reasons
First Hearn won’t let that happen and secondly Dazn won’t let that happen
Remember they have a fight also , they are trying to conquer new territory , not in Mexico but in the United States
They have an agenda also , their the big chief , not Eddie or Joshua for that case
That’s my take , far from the 20+ millions they give their fighter
Unrealistic.
