I don’t get this notion that Wilder delaying the fight means he’ll get 50-50.... he won’t because FOX or PPV whoever is broadcasting his fights won’t keep losing money on his fights just to stroke his ego. Hearn or AJ are not going to give him 50%.... If Wilder wants to waste time then more power to him, he’s 4 years older than Joshua and more likely to get clipped in one his defences. the HW division is really thin. so damn thin that Ortiz is a top 5 HW even after looking like sh.it in his bouts after the Wilder loss. in other words theres not too many other opponents for Wilder to pick from (AJ, Fury, Whyte aside..)

I did notice that this contract was signed with date and venue TBA. I thought date and venue TBA was like garlic to a vampire to Finkel and Wilder?? If this fight does poor numbers its going to be a problem though. I think the last fights numbers showed a surprising lack of growth in popularity and Showtime are gun shy after that. Fights build over time if the momentum is there, lose that momentum the interest starts to fade. If Showtime are finished that should mean Brendan Schaub will no longer be paid to talk boxing, I think we can all agree thats a positive.

I'm very surprised that this is heading to PPV. Can't afford to pay Wilder even half the money he left on the table from the DAZN offer without him fighting on PPV even if it's for fights that make no sense on PPV.
