Just was watching some film on him. He's always in good shape, pretty good technically which makes sense since he was a good enough amateur.
Pretty good fighter on the inside, keeps good distance and range and has a decent jab. And his straight right hand looks pretty dangerous, dangerous enough at least to make someone be cautious on the way in.
Not getting into what his ranking is, just from film and also from who he has fought I really don't think he will be a walkover for GGG. We will see. Regardless I would like to see Rolls against someone else at MW because I don't think he will get run through by others quite so easily.
Resume wise he KD and beat Nicholson - who drew Aleem, who drew/lost to Korobov, who pretty much drew with Charlo. By that logic he barely beat a guy, who tied with a guy, who barely lost to Charlo and Korobov. Would put him about on their level.
If GGG's jab can land and keep Rolls on the back foot, I think GGG can get him out of there and fairly early. But otherwise it may be a bit of a chess match until the later rounds. GGG ain't getting any younger either so he could always get caught.
Just my 2 cents from looking at Rolls - if someone has a different breakdown I would be interested in hearing it.

Man, I dunno. It was just a typical brain fart. I read the article and was quoting from memory. Mixed up info from different articles I suppose.
Hey got some other stuff to ask you, if you have time. --- re: NSB 'housekeeping' :kabong:
-Peace.
Sure man - just send me a message if you want
Thanks bro - did someone say it was on the Thurman Pac card?

Hey just a notice of my edit correction I'm making :
I said July 20 for the Lara/Alvarez date.
The correct date for the bout is August 31
(I don't even see a card for Aug 31 on ESPN's page)
Thanks bro - did someone say it was on the Thurman Pac card?
….. Lara is probably my 2nd favorite boxer of this generation. I like guys that can really box and …..
So yeah I always enjoy seeing him fight. Kind of like the angle of him against Canelo's brother too lol. But from what I've seen that is a 1 sided fight and I think Lara actually KOs him ….
Full disclosure - I thought Lara beat Hurd 7-5 ....
So hey,.... just saw Lara is supposed to fight Ramon Alvarez on July 20th, is it ? That the Manny card ?
That's a division you follow, right ? So what do you think about that fight, in comparison to some of the others that you mentioned (quoted above) and gave some context to ?
…..So... Lara vs Canelo's hermano… What say you, sir ? :drillserg Let's hear some rationale.....

Canelo lost both fights to Golovkin and got sweetheart decisions. Get over it and move on. Canelo's risks were well calculated. Fielding, Chavez, Khan, Mosely, Cotto Mathew Hatton. He's cheated on weight his whole career or fought aging fighters with a name that showed signs of slippage. That's the reality. Mayweather schooled him completely. A fair judge would be hard pressed to give him even one round. But of course you have an excuse for that too. The truth is as plain as the nose on your face Pinnocchio, which must be huge by now. Ironic choice of your screen name by the way.
Talk about Pinocchio and then said that canelo Lost both fights against GGG.
Lol
Man. Your wet dreams are not the reality
Canelo won the rematch and did enough to be the winner, period.
Whooped his ass and destroyed his ugly face
GGG missed 1000 punches in both fights and did a bad job in the rematch
Abel Sánchez said to him that they were losing the fight and he did not do anything to change
But you are a complete fanboy that never do any comment about this
Reality is that GGG lost, period.
And canelo took much more risks than GGG, thats another truth
GGG always had a soft career and he is a puss.y that ducked Derevyachenko.
And yeah. Canelo Lost against Floyd at 23 years old. Taking risks. That L made him a better fighter and now is the P4P King
At the same time. GGG is fighting with ****ing Stevie Wonders.
But you are a fanboy that can't admit that Rolls is worst than Fielding
Drains his opponents?
You said a lot of same sh.it.
Canelo took much more risks than GGG and thats a fact.
GGG is a ****.ing diva and canelo destroyed his ass and whooped his ass and dont matter what haters le fanboys say
Thats a fact.
GGG was talking trash before the rematch and then he never want to exchange in middle of the ring and was jabbing and taking a lot of punishment.
When your own trainer talked sh.it about you it's because you are a real sh.it.
Thats your boy and in the third fight canelo would k.o this ass
He is shot after that ass whooping than canelo gave him

Odd I was thinking he same thing about Canelo fans.
Drops his title to avoid Golovkin. Gets a pass.
Fails his drug tests. Gets a pass.
Consorts with Gangsters. Gets a pass.
Weight drains his opponents. Gets a pass.
Punches out a Bantamweight. Gets a pass..
Gets controversial decisions in multiple fights. Gets a pass.
Moves up in weight and cherry picks a title. Gets a pass.
Fails miserably against Mayweather. Gets a pass.
Really disgusting.

Triballlllll. Ah say ah say ah say Tryyyyyyyyyyyyy-BOL ! :cop:
Calling all cars. Sound the Tribal-alarm.
Objectivity Banter has left the building.
GGG at age 37 is fighting an undefeated american brother, while Canelo fought a eurobum who already got deleted in one round by Callum Smith and a GGG leftover.
Well...I'm certain you can find people who think Lara won the Canelo fight and got robbed against Castano. Ima say he's due for a 'stay busy' fight. I think it fits nicely on that card. Then like you said, shoot for 2 more of the biggest fights available, if he handily disposes of Ramon. I got no problem with it.
One thing though. ALL these 1, maybe 2 fights a year guys. :nonono:
I guess being over 35, not too bad. I know they have some wars, but until you're 35 and/or a HUGE champion, I really wish they would fight 3-5 times a year. Even Loma's not fighting enough for me. Eh, I dunno, I suppose it all depends on their early careers. Peace.
Great post my friend...we agree 100% there
Kind of like the angle of him against Canelo's brother too lol. But from what I've seen that is a 1 sided fight and I think Lara actually KOs him. At 36 Lara is on the downside of his career but I hope he has another title shot before he is done and if the judging is fair I think he will beat anyone right now at 154.
So I do hope he gets a big fight after that one, just not sure who else there is for him to fight right now.
Full disclosure - I thought Lara beat Hurd 7-5, thought Lara lost to Canelo 7-5, and I haven't watched his most recent draw against Castano. Not saying Lara has won every fight, but if he was American I think he would be undefeated probably. Sad but true imo but that's boxing these days.

So hey boss, along the lines of fighters taking interim "light fights", "tune-ups", "fillers", whatever, just saw Lara is supposed to fight Ramon Alvarez on July 20th, is it ? That the Manny card ?

Heck I'm starting to think this is a good topic, one to maybe start my own thread about. :thinkerg:
Personally, I think context is all important when examining these matchups. In most cases, I'm actually totally fine with taking a "light touch" fight, from time to time. All about the context.
So... Lara vs Canelo's hermano… What say you, sir ? :drillserg Let's hear some rationale.
Lol man as weird as it may seem since I am a GGG fan, Lara is probably my 2nd favorite boxer of this generation. I like guys that can really box and if they are lefty that's a bonus. I just really enjoy his style in the ring. He makes it look so easy usually.
So yeah I always enjoy seeing him fight. Kind of like the angle of him against Canelo's brother too lol. But from what I've seen that is a 1 sided fight and I think Lara actually KOs him. I don't mind a light touch every now and then for a fighter but I would much rather see GGG in with Andrade or another top guy. And many would argue Rolls is worse than just the usual 'light touch' anyway....
In bringing up Pac-man - interestingly I actually feel like this is a similar match-up - pre-fight at least - to Pac vs Horn. I see why Pac did that fight though - it was a big exposure/event fight in Australia for Manny and he was a superstar trying to extend and expand his brand in a way. GGG doesn't quite have that same 'excuse' here imo….
I don't predict Rolls to do as well as Horn did, the size advantage Horn had was his big edge and Rolls won't really have that. But then again I gave Horn no real shot going into the fight, and didn't really know much about him....

GGG fans are the worst of the world
No doubt about that.
