Wilder vs Breazeale drew 791K viewers on saturday.
Down from his last 2 Showtime fights. Fury PPV doesn't appear to have boosted his TV ratings at all.
Wilder vs Stiverne drew 824K viewers
Wilder vs Ortiz drew 1.1M viewers
EDIT: Undercard ratings:
Gary Russell drew just 505K viewers
Heraldez vs Mendez drew 319K viewers
All numbers per Nielsen TV ratings
"3 people at my work talked about the fight, so the ratings don't matter"
the actual ratings were higher than what were reported in this thread
the fight approached 1 million viewers despite it being a disappointing opponent and not even lasting 3 minutes
I said 3 people approached me at work...in my department....there are thousands upon thousands that work where I do....im sure this wasn't the only place it happened
wilders ko had a huge buzz going all day sunday as people were posting it on fb....I saw people who aren't boxing fans, but friends of mine, posting the video clip saying things like "damn that was nasty"....
like I said...theres a certain percentage of losers around here hoping wilder is going to disappear..i assure you he isn't
and no matter what his rating was sat night his money for an AJ fight didn't decrease by a single penny....and that's just the cold, hard, truth which is hard for some of you to accept
im guessing it sold 5 actual tickets and they gave away the rest too right?!?! lol
keep acting/talking like wilder is going away and nobody cares about him.....every time out hes raising his profile
I had like 3 guys at work, who aren't even boxing fans, come up to me Monday and ask me if I watched the fight...."I saw some guys post the knockout on facebook" they all told me....wilder is trending....no matter what his ratings did Saturday
hes such a nobody that everyones favorite app supposedly offered him 100 mil for a few fights....but nobody care doe! ive never seen a bigger bunch of clowns
"3 people at my work talked about the fight, so the ratings don't matter"
"ratings make networks money"
so did lil g/Lemieux make hbo money
how did top rank do with the Crawford/postol ppv?
how about Crawford/khan? did espn make money?
LOL...you have no concept of anything
maybe showtime did take an L on this fight...so what? they wouldn't be the first and certainly not the last....whats important is that they still have wilder and if they end up with a piece of the AJ fight they will make money...and a fury fight too
companies take L's short term to make it long terms....but you have no concept of how anything works because you are a POS loser
wilder was trending all day sunday and people were watching and sharing the highlight reel ko all day...that's is good for wilder and anyone affiliated with him...but I wouldn't expect you to understand....you are a scrub
Why not take the L and move on. Must you cry over everything. Am beginning to suspect either you are a girl or a transgender.
nobody know wilder or care doe
but DAZN offered him 100 mil n he turned it down also doe!
most networks are in the business of offering guys 100 mil deals when nobody know them or care about them! LOL
You are the only wilder fans on this thread without a brain cell of reasoning. Are you this dumb or stupid?
I have seen championforever, that g, 5000boxings and others, they are big wilder fans and they are keeping it real. the rating is quite low for the WBC champ on free TV.
Encouraging showtime, all boxing networks, streaming services and fans to help in lifting boxing.
I love them for their sincere comments and suggestion. You mustn't be a fan boy on every thread raised. Keep it real for once.
Am sorry, this sports cannot grow beyond this if we more fans like you.
It's pathetic.
im guessing it sold 5 actual tickets and they gave away the rest too right?!?! lol

Lolx.... You sound hurt and disappointed at the same time.
Take heart bro.
AJ vs Povetkin: 1,113,000 buys at £19.99 ($25.37) = $28,236,810
Wilder vs Fury: 325,000 buys at $74.99 = $24,371,750 (US)
and 450,000 buys at $25.37 = $11,416,500 (UK)
Total = $35,788,250
Wilder outgrossed Joshua in their last fights by $7,551,440
And the real numbers for Saturday are a bit better than reported in this thread. The OP should actually read the news reported from this sight. Viewership peaked at 990K and undoubtedly would have gone higher had the fight not ended so soon. It also has to be taken into account that the fight was on directly opposite of the NBA playoffs. That's a damn good number when you consider the high ratings that Golden State usually gets and reportedly the game easily topped the ratings Saturday. Lastly, the KO itself went viral on twitter, amassing 6 million views within hours of the KO.
So yeah, the days of 60/40 or someone being the "A-side" may be gone.
We will see how things go June 1st.
i dont give a sht about these numbers. everybody and their mama was talking about that KO and thats good for boxing.. NextDawg, I couldn't have agreed with you more. This is just a smokescreen and an obvious attempt by a few Wilder, Haymon and PBC evil haters to discredit them by disseminating a false propaganda campaign against their success. You are right. The Wilder KO is what true boxing fans should all be talking about right now instead of vitriolic boxing politics.
The money probably came from Haymon via Waddell And Reeds. If that was the case, then wouldn't they just have easily shopped Deontay Wilder to another platform like DAZN who would pay his $20mil guarantee instead of paying him $8 mil out of their own pocket? Let's use some common sense here. Ask yourself this question?
Who stood to lose the most had Wilder signed with DAZN; Showtime or Al Haymon? If you answer this question correctly then you will find where Deontay Wilder's $10 mil guarantee came from.
Remember that Deontay Wilder is already signed to Al Haymon but he is not signed to Showtime or any other television network or online video streaming platform.

I don't think Wilder made 18M the report was he was going to make close to 10M for the Breazalle fight. Not sure if Showtime paid the fee or Haymon came out of pocket for the fee maybe a combination of both. :lol1: He's just bullshitting. He's a troll. He can't prove that Al Haymon personally, paid Deontay Wilder $8mil out of his own pocket for a non Showtime PPV card.
The only time a promoter reaches within his own pocket to pay a fighter is on Pay Per View; When the fighter's guarantee exceeds the television network's budget and licensing fee. Then the card is moved to PPV where the promoter produces it by assuming all of the financial risks.
This fight was produced by the Showtime Championship Boxing series; Where the fighter's get a licensing fee. So chances are Showtime increased their licensing fee in order to keep Deontay Wilder on their network and from signing with DAZN.
Showtime put up about 10 million. Haymon paid the rest out of his pocket.
Sometimes the promoter reaches into their own pocket to make to make a fight happen. In this case it was to stop wilder from going to DAZN.
It’s not the networks responsibility to pay a fighter’s purse. They buy a fight then the promoter and fighter make their deal on the purse. In this case Haymon got showtime to pay more than they’ve probably ever paid s fighter for a non ppv fight at about 10 mil. That's a new one to me; Please provide a source where Al Haymon paid Deontay Wilder more than $8 mil out of his own pocket for a non Showtime PPV Boxing card because I don't believe you.
Wilder's guarantee from his last pay per view card with Tyson Fury was only $4mil which did come out of Al Haymon own pocket because he produced the card and it exceeded the licensing fees and budget of the Showtime Championship Boxing series.
In addition, I get all that. The television networks have a contractual agreement with the promoters and not the fighters. Naturally, the fighters receive their pay from Al Haymon because the promoters receives a licensing fee for every card that the network produces for them.
Then the fighters receive their purse split from the promoter and then the promoter receives a percentage of the fighter's purse split. In this case, CBS increased their licensing fee, in order to keep Deontay Wilder on their network and to prevent him from signing with DAZN.
the best way to tell is look how many thousands of wilder fury tickets were available a few days before the fight then they mysteriously started setting snapped up. M
The fact wilder Breazeale wasnon groupon tells u everything U need to know
So you don't have a number or even a guess?
That was a fight that was going to do good numbers with the traveling Brits regardless.
We're talking Wilder vs Fury or Wilder vs Breazeale?
I mean of course, but tell me how many tickets Wilder/Fury promoters bought for the fight? Eddie Hearn is famous for doing this in the UK, but you don't just recklessly buy a bunch of tickets you can't give away for a fight like Wilder/Fury. They were going to do good sales regardless.the best way to tell is look how many thousands of wilder fury tickets were available a few days before the fight then they mysteriously started setting snapped up. u never answered my question. If you “sell” 15k tickets but you bought half or more of them is the gate number a legit number?

Not sure if Showtime paid the fee or Haymon came out of pocket for the fee maybe a combination of both. But whoever paid took a blood bath. They overpaid him simply to keep him from jumping at that DAZN offer but in the short term lost big time on Saturday for a fight that didn't do well at the box office and didn't draw Showtime ratings. But cost MORE money to pay wilder then both his last 2 showtime cards and that includes all the fighter purses...while drawing LESS ratings then each of those fights.
These 2 entire cards below were cheaper for Showtime then just paying Wilder on saturday to draw 791K viewers
Wilder vs Stiverne drew 824K viewers
Wilder vs Ortiz drew 1.1M viewershe made over 17 mil. They had to pay or he was gone but Haymon dug into his own pocket after he got showtime to overpay over half of it
