"Deontay Wilder will pick up almost $10million for his heavyweight world title fight against Dominic Breazeale."
Anthony Joshua is set to make career high of 32 million against Ruiz.
Wilder better be getting some sort of back end money.
If it went 12 rounds (36 minutes) he still would have gotten the same money.
I wonder how much Shelly Finkel and Al Haymon get from Wilder's purses?
Good for Deontay that it's a quickie... :D
It's all about those Youtube fight highlight viewing numbers though.
8 million views on youtube translates into a 100 million dollar purse according to wilder. its just math
Yeah that's a non PPV fight vs a guy outside of the top 10 HW, shown on only one platform, Showtime.
Joshua is also fighting vs a guy outside of the top 10 HW, but isn't the fight also available on Sky PPV on top of it being in DAZN? Those are two platforms and if you want to see it in the UK don't you have to buy the Sky Sports PPV? That's more money being generated, so more money for Joshua.
That's a very good pay day for Deontay Wilder. I couldn't have been more proud of him at this time. His hard work, patience and perseverance has finally paid off.
$10 million for 2 minute work is not bad at all... that's $5 million per minute...

The money from TV etc is known before and goes to put on the event and pay the purses. There's no backend money like with a PPV. :bounce:
Wilder next fight should be on ppv
Back end money on a non PPV fight.
A percentage of bar tips and they have secured the rights to all the loose change they find under the seats from rows 1 to 7.
Yes, backend money. The same money promoters make to carry a boxing event on a TV network. The entire card was put on by his own promotional company, plus there's endorsements, winning bonuses, etc. The fighter's purse is only a portion of what most self-employed PBC fighters make.
Exactly, which is why it doesnt even matter how much the likes of DAZN or EPSN will offer to pay for the big fights. The PBC will say NO to any offer unless that offer guarantees the fights will be on Showtime.
And Espinoza pays Al Haymon alot of money to make sure thats what happens. Rather than Showtime giving all their best fighters exclusive network contracts they just give Haymon promotions the contract and then they dont have to pay the actual fighters. Not fair on the guy who actually put their lives on the line but it saves Showtime money so who cares eh.
And they say he is just an advisor?
Interesting . Where is Shelly finkle in all of this?
Back end money on a non PPV fight.

Showtime I banking recouping all losses in the Fury and AJ fights
