The Pac vs Margarito fight was one of the worst "championship" fights I can remember. Not for the complete mismatch though. It was the idea that this fight should have a belt on the line, just to be able to call Pac an 8 division champ. A complete farce. Right up there with Floyd vs Conor.
SRL vs Lalonde was the worst championship fight ever no doubt about that.
Yes, but you know full well the presumptions that are automatically made when anyone is found to be 'cheating' whether it be PEDs or whatever. Jarrell Miller never tested positive until this time round, but I'm sure most of his previous fights are now suspicious, even though (I think) there's no way of going back to prove it one way or anything.
My point is, if the trainer was so bold as to think he could get away with it vs Mosely, a big fight with a lot of coverage, it's not unreasonable to suspect he may have done it before and gotten away with it. Alternatively, this might have been the first and only time he tried it. Win at all costs. That's elite mentality. So I know what I would suspect. And yes, I concede, it is merely a suspicion. But not without any basis. (When I say 'he' I mean his trainer, from what I've read, there's a reasonable chance Margarito might never have known).
The problem with it being wet, was that it contained something that when it was soon to dry, it would become basically as hard as cement. Not just because it was wet. Why would a wet hand wrap on its own give any advantage :/
Lol. POP or any other hardening substance like that needs heat and to be kept dry and unmolested to become hard. There's just no way POP could get hard under the conditions of being in a hand wrap used for boxing. What it could have done was added weight to his punches. I saw the inserts though. They were maybe 2x2 inches and didn't appear to be very wet. How much weight and advantage Tony would have got is arguable. Have you seen the inserts yourself? If they wanted to cheat PEDs would have been a way better method. Hell just ask his opponent that night. If you wanted to make a case for this been the first time Tony cheated, there it is. Perhaps he knew he was going up against a cheat and said fuk it let's load the wraps. Who knows? We do know that in every fight Tony's wraps were checked by the opponent and the commission though.
It had elements of POP. Hand creams have elements of POP as well. The insert though was deemed illegal because it was wet. That's it. It could have been 100% water and it's still illegal. Now, do you plan on telling me any time soon exactly which fights Tony cheated? So far we know he only may have attempted to cheat.

The illegal insert he was trying to wrap into Margarito's hands was confiscated and confirmed as a plaster of paris type substance. You know this is all confirmed don't you. This isn't even speculation.

The trainer didnt admit to cheating. He admitted to using an illegal insert. The reason it was illegal, it was wet. Again, prove to me he CHEATED.

well , if this is how we should determine divisional titles then
mikey garcia = 0 division champion
and canelo too woud have 0 title if we dont count those controversial victories and vacant title he won
The circus fight at 154 shouldn't count. Plus he is an era that there are so many belts for each weight class. At 135 Diaz was the path of least resistance.
His trainer admitted it. What more do you want. And before you say he admitted it but didn't actually end up having illegal wraps for the Mosley fight because someone spotted it, it's mighty convenient that he would of course deny having ever done it before. Why would he try to cheat for the Mosley fight but not previous fights?
A bit like Jarrell Miller gets caught doping, well, obviously he didn't just start doping for the AJ fight.

Cause I copy pasted from a website. Being KOd isnt an accolade. Trying to funny or you just slow?
Being fighter of the year is an accolade but not being in a fight of the year?
Prove to me he cheated.

Ah, a wild Margarito fan emerges. Why would anyone not have enjoyed seeing cheating Margarito taking his beatings from Pacman and Cotto?
Prove to me he cheated.
The problem most people have is Tim got to #2 by being given a gift decision over Manny that many of us saw as a robbery. It was if Arum gerrymandered Tim into being #2 when he wouldn't have been without the terrible scoring from the 1st fight.
Well he also beat Marquez who had just KO’d Manny. But really, he was ranked so highly simply by virtue of the division being so poor after Floyd retired. Lest we forget, it was the sports premier division, and then suddenly tumbled. It hasn’t made that much of a recovery since either.
I doubt every single boxing fan. Every single ***** ass fan though is probably right.

Well, at least I think I can safely say, every single boxing fan enjoyed Margarito being absolutely battered. And then battered even harder by Cotto in the next fight. So it was worth it for that.

I'm just saying, you typed up all the accolades he's received throughout his career, why wouldn't you list he was part of the 2012 fight of the year?
Cause I copy pasted from a website. Being KOd isnt an accolade. Trying to funny or you just slow?
So? He was KOd by his biggest rival who is an ATG too. No shame on that. Ali has been KOd too. What were you trying to prove?
Marquez vs Pacquiao is an ATG rivalery.
Im not a groupie... I can like Marquez and Floyd cause my favorite fighter is Pacman. Seems like you cant....

- -Ronnie Mac, is that really you wrapped in secret sauce?
As of 2011 Manny had fought , beat, and KOed more Ring ranked p4pers in history. Nobody close, and since he has doubled those numbers. Moreover, he made his divisional debut against 2 #1s that woulda been 3 but for Barrera ducking their rematch that was delayed until later.
What grade you in now Ronny? Happy Meals?
