Pacquiao vs Broner for comparison did around 400,000, so how much does this fight do? Take into consideration how good the promotion for Spence/Garcia was and that fight did over 360,000 buys.
also depends on the undercard. Hope its full of action, I hate when they fill it out with garbage.
I doubt they will. They know most people only care about the main event. Spence-Garcia did 350K buys and that had one of the worst undercards i've ever seen.
I think it does VERY WELL! Pacquiao is still a good draw BUT Thurman Personality will shine leading up to this one. Always been a great talker with a lot of charisma, one of the best interviewers in boxing. Hopefully Thurman stays Healthy and doesn't get injured for a fight this big even if you get injured you still take the fight!
The Broner fight was about that much right, I would say it should do like 50% more given that Thurman is as well known and a much more credible foe and this is a bigger fight so yea like 600k plus should be workable because Manny looked good also against Broner which also help to sell the fight (even if Broner is not that good).
His fight is on regular FOX before the PPV main card.
It should help sell the fight though because they should use that pre-fight show to push that fight. I always felt Showtime and HBO dropped the ball and didn't always have fights around PPV fights to help sell it, this is cutting it a bit close but it can't hurt to have an infomercial before the fight.
Well damn. I thought they were gonna try to make a solid PPV undercard lol.
Mfers NEVER make a good PPV undercard. I've heard about more Haymon sightings than seen good PPV undercards no matter who is doing the PPV, TR, GBP, PBC or Eddie.
I do like that UFC Fox to PPV move doe. I think you hook in more buys with that tactic so fair play to them I get it.
Well, I mean would you consider Plant/Lee even a good UC fight? As a prelim fight it is perfectly fine but that's all it is.
Boxing tailors towards the main event fighters making majority of the money on PPVs, unlike in the UFC. Just give me one decent UC match up with the two other fights ending in quick KOs lol.
Over.
I think 550k might be a better over/under number cuz I think its a virtual lock to do more than Broner vs Mannny.
Think this is perhaps the "biggest" fight of the year and will get a ton of press and casuals. Pac is still one of the biggest names in boxing and Thurman is well known and has consistently done great numbers.
Depends on who the promoter is. I thought Leonard Ellerbe did a tremendous job getting out there and promoting the Broner fight. Thurman is a lot more sellable than that clown Broner.
600K easily.
Pac's fans are going to buy this one.
it's not just pac fans. boxing fans in general. everyone knows this is manny's first true test to see if he still has it. and thurman is undefeated. 600-700k+ easily. save this post, bump it later.
fight will do better than most is saying... this is pac's first true test to see if he can still hang with the top young guys. thurman is not a push over name either.
this fight will do around 600-700k! i wont be surprise if it does more. just watch! this aint manny vs horn.
This will be priced at 74.95 for HD most likely, which shows just how much of a value DAZN is at 99.99 a year.
I say it does between 450k and 500k. PBC did a pretty good job building up PAC again by matching him up with the gatekeeper Broner. It has all the delusional PAC fans excited again.
Under but better numbers than Broner fight. This fight is actually interesting and became 50-50 ish. Thurman a good talker. Depending on how they promote this fight people will forget about that layoff
