great example of why people shouldnt analyze things they know nothing about. ad rates are determined by the 18-49 demo. fox ties with abc and cbs. all doing a .3. fox pays way less for boxing than abc and chs pay for the shows pbc tied with. only thing pbc lost to was the stanley cup. this is a win for boxing. fights with unknown guys can hold their own in the ratings with programs that cost a lot more.

This doesn't have anything to do with network wars and promoter bias and all that. People just need to come to grips with the fact that boxing is dead in the US. It is a niche sport full on, but doesn't have an established fanbase like Golf (old ****s) or NASCAR (rednecks). If new Game of thrones episode comes out Sunday at 9pm do you think every single HBO subscriber is watching it live when they know it's ondemand instantly to stream anytime they want that's convenient for them? And you do realize that half the countries DAZN is in are on different timezones? For example what time is midnight here in Spain? Meaning they can't watch it live they are watching it the next morning ondemand. And they didn't get 20 bucks each probably half paid 99 for the year subscription. They have close to if not 1M subscribers in the US alone 600k are just the ones that watched it live dummy. More are on subscription then just the 600k who saw it live. Others could of been at a fight party or in Vegas watching the fight but still DAZN subscribers. But we do know it made over 48M in new subscriptions for the fight. That number is still too low for Canelo. In DAZN's last subscription count they had over 4 mil subs worldwide. Which is very low. Now add that number to the new subs and you should have gotten more than a 50 percent increase. They should have generated no less than $100 mil in revenue in those nine countries combined. The fact is DAZN is losing money which was the reason for the price hike and them mortgaging off their equity in the first place. If they don't raise their number of subscribers soon or add the NFL Sunday ticket then the consumer can expect another price hike within another six months or so.
