Bob Arum More Interested in Winning the Media Battle

Angel lives in the same house as Danny. Danny got the message. Is not Danny his own promoter? Al Haymon works for Danny can he not instruct Haymon to begin negotiations if he truly wanted the fight? He instructed them to negotiate with his manager (who typically negotiates terms, not the promoter). They then made excuses.

They haven’t reached out to Spence, one. Two, what do you mean, they reached out to Team Garcia? You mean Angel? When did he become the one to handle Danny’s financial affairs? Garcia instructed them to contact his manager, and Arum said he doesn’t exist, doesn’t have his #, is a cancer, etc. You forgot the "I don't know who to contact" line he also has said. Huh? You don't know who to contact? So then how do you know who to contact to make the Spence fight? Angel has repeatedly said he has never once made any fight for Danny. But that's in the past, let's hope this time around Arum DOES contact Haymon for that fight and they try to make the Crawford/Garcia fight for later this year.

Does matter who called who or what was said, these fights need to be made. Am not here taking sides and picking what one side says or not say. ONE side as been vocal about wanting this fight. So yes the other side need to step it up. Like i said if they make Spence/Porter next great, brillaint for us, but if they make another Porter v BS or Spence v BB then i would call them out, because Team Crawford has been in the public talking about wanting the fights. Well, I mean the whole point of the thread was the type of the PR games Arum was trying to play here. Said one thing all fight leading up to the fight and then said something completely different after the fight. Of course every boxing fan wants to see that big mega match up. Being vocal =/= Being truthful

Am not for “Winning” PR battles, more of let’s get these unification sorted but to be honest looking at Haymon/PBC track record and their lack of pushing for unification fights! I wouldn’t criticise Arum for going public about Haymon, if shaming Haymon in public means we get the unification fights that we want then am all for it. If shaming Haymon means less sales for them and then making them wanting to get their fighters in unification with other champs who are on the other side of the streets then perfect for boxing fans. I heard an interview with Tim Smith from PBC last year and he said this exact thing is going to happen. He because Arum doesn't have anyone for Crawford to fight he's going to have to use the media to keep Crawford happy by claiming he's trying to make big fights for him. But Arum hasn't called them about any fights. Then Arum proved him correct when Arum said he called Danny Garcia's father, not Haymon, to make the fight. Arum has gone from Haymon doesn't exist, Haymon is a cancer, Haymon doesn't tell his fighters about offers, to I'm going to call Haymon tomorrow. The interviewer tonight started the question off by saying "You've worked with Haymon before" and Bob immediately cut him off and went into his schtick about Haymon not working with Top Rank Its all an act Basically this. He’s not calling anyone. He has no leverage anyway. He needs to appease ESPN and the last way to do that is to send Bud to PBC which, realistically, would have to happen.

What? He literally said he's not making the fight because it needs marinating. Then they pulled Fury from the purse bid. When Fury was asked about who he's fighting he said he leaves that up to his management Yeah but that was after he signed the contract with Top Rank/ESPN. If he hadn't signed it, the rematch would still be on. It's not like Fury didn't know who he would and could fight if he signed and who he wouldn't/couldn't. He knew damn well the rematch wouldn't be next if signed it but he still did it. He's the one to blame, not Arum.

Of course Haymon won't consider the fight. He wants to keep everything in house. If you can't see that then you are dumb as hell. Like Bob don't ??

Unless Arum put the gun to Fury's head, showed him the contract and said 'sign or I'll shoot' then the rematch not happenings next is 100% Tyson Fury's fault. Agreed! If people want to sit there and blame Arum for that, then they should sit there and blame Haymon for Wilder not fighting Joshua or taking the 120m dollars deal offered by DAZN.

KILLED the rematch that was close to being signed and then told everyone that he wants to delay it until February 2020 where it could be a two million PPV buys type of fight. No doubt he is winning the battle to some...And my point he is he is more interested in winning the PR battle more than anything. Everything he said post-fight went against what he said the week of the fight. Spence/Porter, Thurman/Pacquiao....And if I'm Arum, while calling Haymon to get the Spence fight rolling, in the mean time he discusses trying to get Danny Garcia for Crawford next. That would be great. Both guys fought today and are on the same schedule. Garcia isn't getting any other top PBC fighter unless he wants to take on a risky Ugas. Give Garcia 6M+ for the fight and make it happen. If Garcia wants even more, may just have to take a loss and give him around 8 or so million for the fight. I actually agree, i have no faith in Arum and i can completely believe he has as much interest in actually making this fight as Al Haymon does, which is zero. Ive been saying this for 2 years, Bud and Crawford wont fight until its really too late to mean much. But as for your main point, i competely agree with it too. Bob Arum is a sleazy horrible fight stopping mobster, thats all he is. But this mobster has been talking about trying to make Bud v Spence straight after he beats Khan, can we believe him? No. But then ive noticed the "other side of the street", on this occasion Leonard Ellerbe, reacting with a video claiming nobody at PBC is interested in making a fight with Spence right now. Something about Spence being at the back of the queue. Like i said, do i trust Bob? No, but when you got 1 side making statements that they have no interest in fighting Crawford any time soon and it sounds like it dont matter if i trust Bob or not. But then it could just be more lying all round. It seems to be the current way of doing, or rather not doing business in America right now.
