Why do you fools all discuss a topic that only exists in the ops dream world?
Ortiz never asked for 10 million.
Apparently Haymon prevents the fight from happening.
Just texted with Luis Ortiz, who tells me he could be ready for @anthonyfjoshua if his manager instructs him to...don’t get the sense from @premierboxing that they’ll allow this...— Lance Pugmire (@latimespugmire) April 17, 2019
Ortiz asked for 10 Mill on his personal Facebook page.
Right, it is increasingly evident that he doesn't strictly advise his fighters in their own best interests but also uses his position to serve the interests of his de facto promotional company, PBC, which is a contravention of the Ali Act as I understand it. There is supposed to be a separation of powers between managers/advisors, promoters and sanctioning bodies, in order to keep fighters from being exploited, e.g. by being advised to turn down career-high purses. Haymon has been doing this since the inception of PBC but it's becoming really harmful now that he can no longer offer more money than his competitors
... well, man: this guy actually found a "crack/niche" within the legislation... that's what businessmen do... :)
as long as he "owns" a television boxing series in "Premier Boxing Champions" he isn't just an "advisor"... I guess...

Then he shouldn't be allowed to call himself an "advisor". Advisors are supposed to work in their fighters' interests, not in the interests of television networks or promotional companies

Didn't even know he's a PBC fighter until he started becoming a regular undercard to PBC fights fighting bums after another.
He also started behaving like one.
Call out the big names and skip the ones in the middle.
Just like Charlo pretending to want Canelo, GGG, then fight bums.
Stevenson ran away and hid under Haymon's skirt.
But at least Adonis never called out big names.
He's happy being fed with whatever Haymon fed him.
These guys like Wilder, etc., are the worst kind.
They initially beg for big fights.
But when offered the fight they suddenly want retirement money.
Biggest cancer in the sport, you know who he is.
... these reasons are rather emotional... the guy has a business that he wants to protect -- he can't just feed his biggest competitor (DAZN) with fighters...

Change the life of his fighter, get his fighter the fight of a lifetime to become a unified heavyweight world champion?
Have the chance to get all 4 world Heavyweight champion belts under his own stable?
Give boxing fans a fight that they ask for?
Show the boxing media and the fans that he is not a shady criminal violating the Ali act?
I could list many more.
... OK... there also may exist the possibility that Ortiz would wish to leave Haymon and try to take AJ's money... (but we don't know what are the provisions of the contract Ortiz has signed with PBC, tbh)...

... and what would be Haymon's interest to help in making such fight?

Show proof Ortiz asked for $10 million, sounds like Hearns usual tricks to duck a fighter.
Yes, the oldest trick in the book...
Make big offers for an Undisputed fight, organise a US fight against a credible opponent, make credible opponent piss hot, talk up alternate opponent, mention alternate opponent wants more money.
I don't know why it's only the two of us seeing through Eddie. This was clearly all a plan to duck Ortiz.

The biggest payday Ortiz has ever had was against Wilder at 500K. If he can't fight for a huge 6.5, then he's a lying b1tch. He's done nothing but call AJ out. Well, now he's got his chance for life changing money. But he wants to play games and ask for more? Nah. He's a coward who doesn't believe he can win so wants to be compensated with stupid money to take the beating. Some fighter he is.
I hope Hearn tells this coward to f3ck himself and makes a note never to give this joke another chance. He doesn't deserve it.
You're right of course. I am definitely NOT saying I agree with Ortiz, I am only saying that this is what is happening. For an old guy who doesn't have that many paydays ahead he is gambling here. If Hearn gives him the finger, what other paydays can he look forward to? None like this.
$10M is a bargain. Are they gonna try to duck Ortiz over a couple million? They desperately need Ortiz to save this event.
I agree with that.
Well, there's nothing wrong with Ortiz going in high to negotiate, even if they knock him down to 8 or 9 million. Nobody really knows what Miller was getting as it's never been officially disclosed, but it was rumoured to be between $6m to $8m.
With DAZN seemingly having a lot of money and needing to save the event for AJ's USA debut, and Ortiz being by far the best choice, it'd be a good look for them to pay it and get the fight on. The public's expectations of the fight are low now, so Ortiz coming in would make boxing fans much happier.
I think they should pay it. Joshua doesn't have the profile to get USA subscribers without a decent fight. Of course paying $10m to Ortiz is overpaying his worth, but DAZN have been doing that anyway, so they can do it with Ortiz
He didn't the original poster made it up. Ortiz's team are silent and the only thing that has been said publicly by Eddie Hearn is that his manager has said it is too short notice but he will speak to Luis Ortiz.
Ortiz said after his last fight he would fight Wilder on a week's notice and AJ is an easier fight so he really can't turn it down if he's a man of his word especially when he'll get double or triple what Wilder would offer him.
Ortiz posted on his facebook. Unless that was made up?
