You can differentiate with A*, A+, A, A- etc if you really want to. I just labelled Vasyl Lomachenko an A* fighter in another thread. It's easier to just generalize the A-class category though, you don't have to go into the finer details of a grade within a grade.
Tyson Fury
Oleksandr Usyk
Saul Alvarez
Vasyl Lomachenko
Just a few. Are the likes of Callum Smith, Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford proven A-class? Manny Pacqiauo was A-class, but is he still? Same goes for Sergey Kovalev and Gennady Golovkin?
In reality all the ATG's lost occasionally
Floyd never lost you piece of ****! Canelo lost to him which is really not that bad because Floyd has made a career of beating future HOF boxers.
ATG/GOAT Floyd>>> A+ Canelo> A GGG
But losing to SALIDO will for ever more taint Lomachenko´s career.
Only Unbeaten fighters qualify as A/A+
A good example of the way that an unbeaten status has become a fetish with some fans to the detriment of the sport. This has led to boxers becoming increasingly risk averse, desperate not to lose their '0' and content to exist in a state of perpetual paralysis.
In reality all the ATG's lost occasionally, such is boxing and those losses didn't diminish their accomplishments but made them all the more impressive because they took place in an era where fighters would take a risk.
Today we have a generation of fans brought up on Floyd's careful massaging of his unbeaten record and they've somehow convinced themselves that the path to greatness involves managing all risk out of the game.
Tragic...
The question was about todays boxers, Muhamed Ali and Ray Robinson are ATG, GOAT level.
They've still got losses, undefeated ain't all that anyone can have a bad day and anyone can improve after a loss.

Fury A
Usyk A+
Alvarez A-
Lomenchenko A+
LMAO Muhammed Ali is a B grade fighter and Sugar Ray Robinson must be D- by your standards with 19 losses.

Canelo gets a pass by me because he lost to an ATG at a very young age and at 152.
Lomachenko was beat by SALIDO... Pacquiao before PEDs lost to tomato cans and was knocked down by a jab.
And you should know that at HW any punch could be the last one you receive due to the force/weight

Lennox lewis is one of the best heavyweights ever ;was knocked out by 2 B/C+++ level fighters
Juan manuel marquez (imo the goat mexican) lost to a bum who has 4 wins and 14 losses in his first fight
I can go on all day to show you how flawed and moronic your logic is

Crawford definitely is A class for the same reason usyk : he demonstrated he is the best at his class when he went undisputed. I think what constitutes an A class fighter is activity , consistency and how dominant they can be at their peak.
