Anyone think Canelo chins Jacobs?

Canelo couldn't KO old man Cotto. Name one top fighter that Canelo was able to KO... I'll wait. Canelo's power has been the most overrated thing about him. He might catch Jacobs and get a flash KD, the way Golovkin did but he's not knocking him out. I think Jacobs will fight a much better fight than he did against Golovkin. The scoring might actually be a little less predictable since it is happening in New York.

I have felt Jacobs will fold since this was first announced. IDK, it may look different when they fight....but I think Red Ranger will be tearing up that body like he tore up those tainted meat street tacos. May be he might go down with a body shot as Canelo is a good body puncher but I think this fight goes the distance, Jacobs might outwork Canelo but not get the nod by the judges imo.

Im pretty sure he does. All canelo throws are powershots. The only real danger from jacobs is that short counter overhand as a fighter comes in. Other than late rd rallies, jacobs doesnt do anything the majority of the rds, and by the middle rds he has slowed down.

Definitely Canelo can knock Jacobs down with a punch Jacobs doesn't see coming. What bothers me is Jacobs inconsistancy. He was over anxious against Sulecki. Once he settled down he dropped him. Can't afford to do that against Canelo. I believe he can outbox Canelo if he keeps his concentration. Establish his jab go to the body and don't get too brave.

It's possible, it's happened before. But after the Pirog fight he's shown some improvement in recoverability. He's fought two good punchers after Pirog, which are GGG and Derevyanchenko and fought well against both. I'd like to think he's vastly improved and I don't think Jacobs is a "KO waiting to happen" anymore. But man, he did get dropped by Mora and GGG though, so that still lingers in every fight and Canelo can hit hard. On the otherhand, Canelo, even though he's shown he has a good chin and doesn't block punches with his face, needs to be careful too. He's gone 12 rounds in each of his last 4 fights but that doesn't mean his power is gone. He did drop Derevyanchenko and Sulecki. He's got not so sneaky power and Canelo needs to be cautious about that.

If Sergio mora can drop you , for sure canelo can no you , I think Jacobs saw a lot of Ggg shots coming as the speed wasn’t there , Canelo is faster and more unpredictable although not as powerful , can see Jacobs getting kod by one he doesn’t see coming

Could be. Canelo's punch technique is alot better than it was 1-1.5 years ago.

Canelo knocks him out in my opinion. GGG beat him in Jacobs's home state by ud. Jacobs weighed an estimated 180 pounds against GGG on fight night due to unusual circumstances. He will be closer to 170 for Canelo. GGG dropped him and took some fight out of him and he hasn't looked as since then as he looked then. Canelo will weaken him with a body attack and finish him with body and head combos in my opinion.

Seeing how Jacobs handled G’s power check. I dont see Canelo being a bigger deal. Problem hes going to have is Canelo is quick and shifty. A good fight either way. Cant wait.

I think it's possible . It wasn't that long ago that most on here labeled Jacobs as " chinny " . Looks like overachieving against GGG by surviving with just a knockdown has made believers out of some .

I can already here those body shots and they haven't happened yet. Canelo is obsessed with ripping left hands to the body now. I can just tell he's only going to meld that even more in his offensive strategy. Let's not forget Jacob's stopped Kid Chocolate in the 1st round. He also gave GGG a tough fight with his size. He's a big big guy for middleweight. Canelo may be big, filled out, but he is small dimensions wise. Jacob's needs to use that to his advantage. Make him reach and miss. When Canelo get's frustrated he will move in hard and fast with single shots. Jacob's should meet Canelo with that same intensity like how Maidana answered Floyd's pull counter. My first approximation of Canelo's weakness? The body. Anybody who has that much of an affinity for bodyshots has a weak mid section themselves. He's too stationary with those flat feet and it's because people aren't truly targeting his body. Not yet. My first approximation of Jacob's weakness? Chin. All that size, strength and will power won't help when you have a vulnerable face/head. I'm not sure if Canelo has the same power and offensive strength to hurt Jacob's like GGG did. My gut level instinct is Canelo stops Jacob's late. The accumulation of body shots will wear him down enough to it getting waved off after some unanswered punches by Canelo.

They both have the power to KO each other. Canelo is a much sharper, accurate puncher and he's better technically but Jacobs has a much greater reach and size advantage. He's also pretty fast on his feet and he's a smart fighter. I think the fight will get to a point where Jacobs is getting tagged hard and he'll begin to back track in order to avoid getting into exchanges. He may go into survival mode....But that's just one scenerio that I can imagine....Jacobs is an excellent fighter, and if he can use his range and movement effectively , this could be a really difficult fight for the much shorter Canelo. Alvarez won't be able to come in recklessly because Jacobs has the range, power and ability to hurt Canelo, though I think Canelo has a better chin than Jacobs and is tougher bother physically and mentally.

Really amped for this fight. Jacobs usually fights as good as the occasion so hoping he puts together a blinder and we get a great fight. I also see it going the distance. In Nelos favour of course.

I personally think Jacobs wins via KO. But you all have to remember that even Sergio Mora knocked down Jacobs....that's a reason for worry for us Jacobs fans. Canelo would make Jacobs look like a bum. Levels. Watch and learn.

An era nobody really cares about! I'm trying to think of good opponents for Canelo. Please fight all these Euros at 168 and 75, including Kovalev. Don't waste a fight on Golovkin. Fight Kovalev. Aim higher. I love Kovalev but Canelo could beat him. Fight Bivol and Gvozdyk first. Dare to be great. No more bums, Canelito!
