Why exactly hasn't Gary Russell Jr. unified?

Checking his record he should defend his title twice a year instead of once a year and he should be fighting better higher ranked fighters. As a world champion he is doing a poor job. I like his skill and speed and hope he starts doing a better job as a champion.

I'm just curious... dude has done nothing since fight Loma/GonzalezWhy single him out when about 90% of today's world champions have not unified anything? Very few champions own more than one belt. Most of them only own one belt just like Russell Jr.

Russell Jr is a wasted talent. He is more worried about his gym and his brothers fighting than taking fights.

The bigger question is why isn't he fighting more and getting as much of a push as Leo Santa Cruz.

His career is going nowhere at the moment and it's a real shame because he is brilliant. I don't know if its him, or his management but he needs to fight more. I really enjoy watching him.

I'd say chances are good it happens this year, but anything is possible.
