In the following interview Wilder explains why the fight hasn't happened yet:
"We don't understand the definition of patience, waiting. We want things done right now, when we want it we want it now."
"In boxing, unfortunately, it doesn't work that way."
"Certain things take time. Especially, the best fights takes time to marinate, it takes time to developing."
"The contract and negotiations must be right." - this one is pure brilliance :lol1:
Finkel seems to agree, making the fight is now suddenly "complex and complicated".
And we thought it's as simple as saying yes to an email offer with a 24h deadline and no rematch clause, without any meetings, contracts, negotiations...
did floyd ever fight manny and won a gift?????????
not the same AT ALL
how is it not the same? he's basically saying and doing the same thing floyd was. "there's no rush", "fight will happen on my clock", etc.
should've gotten beaten by Ortiz, should've lost to fury, he's letting it "marinate" for a reason.
can you imagine if other sports let it "marinate" before they played each other.
Ive never known contradictions on the level of Team Wilder and the fanboys (Wilder has plenty of level headed fans). From interview to interview, statement to statement Finkel provides contradictions. Wilder on the other manages to contradict himself through out a single interview or statement.
But Eddie contradicts himself doe boo hoo. Show me.
taking a page out of floyd's book! for the posters saying that wilder is ducking fury by making this statement, yall feel the same when it was floyd to manny?

AJ said when he asked for proof of funds for the $50 million, they were unable to provide that so he moved on.
Hearn says they never asked for proof of funds because they know Haymon and Showtime have the money.
Is there really any question the 50 million was real? Wilder is now being offered 100 million and you really don't think Showtime was willing to give Joshua 50?
Thank you :)
So you need to review your memory of the time. Wilder wasn't banned from the event, he was booked to commentate for Sky tv and they had his hotels, cars etc all sorted. He made the unilateral decision not to come because he wasnt guaranteed to be in the ring afterwards. He missed the chance to talk directly to the UK ppv audience who may buy the fight in the future, to build awareness of him etc etc.
Wilder was never banned from the event, he was told he couldn't come in the ring without AJ's say so and if there was no fight to promote there was no point him being in the ring.
Again, if the fight was agreed then all parties would have an interest in him being in the ring. Until that point however AJ and Hearn would be damaging their own negotiating position by allowing Wilder in there.
It's that simple.
Yep what was stopping him from shouting from ringside?
But the funniest bit is before AJ fought Wlad Sky asked him about entering the ring after the fight.
Wilder told them he'd not disrespect AJ by doing that and that his boxing talks for him not things like that.
Leave aside the question of how hard it was to agree terms, do you understand why until he did he was never going to get in that ring? That's the point I'm trying to get across here, not interested in arguing the other points, not interested in mocking Wilder or defending AJ etc. I just wanted to explain this one point to you and see if you understood?
It makes perfect sense. Why give him a platform on your night for a fight that isn't agreed upon. Also, AJ said when he asked for proof of funds for the $50 million, they were unable to provide that so he moved on.
I remember when he said similar things about Wlad. Guy even said the longer he waits the older those guys get and better chance he has of winning.
To attack AJ and Hearn and then do all the things he has attacked them for is pathetic
Yes indeed.
Sadly this approach is likely going to pay off and may as you say adversely affect the career choices of future boxers, at least inasmuch as the fans interests are concerned. The obsession with the undefeated status is a major blockage to the fights we want to see.
It may be that Wilder just isn't good enough to have taken any more risks than he did but if you want to know the reason why AJ made it so big so quickly in the UK it's because Hearn was prepared to take more calculated risks in the matchmaking than Team Wilder has ever dared. He's reaping the rewards now of course.
Absolutely.
It's truly incredible to see Wilder's approach being defended and celebrated in this manner, he'd have been the subject of ridicule when I was growing up and American fans were always the first to call out a padded resume. What happened to those standards?
yup...ok
Thank you :)
so when wilder didnt show up the next time why did eddie run his mouth and taunt wilder "where are you wilder were here"...even though there was no deal in place then either?
i understand why eddie said THEY DID THAT the first time...it doesnt mean it has to be/should be done that way...i believe a guy should be allowed to confront whenever or wherever......it still makes a good spectacle
hearn wasnt being true to his previous statement....wilder was banned cause eddie said there was no deal...then know again there was no deal he taunted wilder...most likely because he knw his side was bearing the brunt of the "duck" talk at the time and he was trying to reverse course
