Bullchit boys and girls
Spence fighting at home , at his beloved Cowboys stadium , in front of his supporters and all , and you guys think he didn’t want or should I say was content with the decision?
No fughin way , he wanted to batter Mikey but I guarantee he wanted that ko
Like I said yesterday , by him not going for the kill just left me dumbfounded
By the end of the sixth round , Mikey knew as well as Spence their was no way for him to win this without a ko
I cheered for Mikey but I enjoy Spence tremendously , but by him not doing what he has done many times before ( we all know he’s not a one punch ko artist ) and not go for it is a great deception to my eyes
I ask , is it possible that Spence felt something could happen to him
If he did , then the beatdown wasn’t as bad as some say
I hope Errol Spence does not become a Ward or similar to Floyd
He has power , according to many , and I’m certain he did not get into boxing to not knockout his opponent
So , then we’ve must admit that his power is not as good as we thought
Over a 1000 punches and he was carrying Mikey ?
Sorry but fugh off , that’s total bullchit
Yeah, I’d say so. Garcia maybe even hoped he could land a game-changer. It happens.
In the end, I was satisfied with the way Spence handled himself. I know some guys think he should’ve taken more risks and closed the show, but that’s easy to say when you’re not the guy taking the risks. Lol Does the fact Errol didn’t finish the smaller man mean anything? Not in this case, in my opinion. Mikey has a lot of heart and a solid chin; and Spence barely went into overdrive.
I have no problem with how spence handled himself. Ive never really pegged him as someone that wants the kill. He is just there to do his work, and his work usually means you are getting broken down and stopped.
I feel like he wanted to box a bit more on the night, and show that it wasn't just his size that was allowing him to win, but his skills. It seems like he took the "basic" comment to heart
I agree with this for the most part, but I would say "resisted" doesn't accurately reflect what Garcia was doing. He had given up all pretenses of trying to win after the 5th round. His resistance was just him trying to survive to the last round.
Spence seemed content enough with how easily he was winning the fight, and didn't really seem to care if he closed out the show or not.
Hey kept putting in the work to keep putting away the rounds, but I didn't ever really see a point where he was really trying to setup the end. It was more of an where if the end came it was going to come from the accumulation, and not a concerted effort to end the fight emphatically.
Thats just how it looked to me though.

Seemed to me that Spence was cautious in the early rounds. He was imposing his will and didn’t see the need to take chances. When he felt Mikey soften up he stepped up the aggression. You could see the ebb and flow of Spence’s effort. He pressed for the KO a couple of times; but when Garcia resisted, Errol was content to inflict punishment.

Spence boxed the vast majority of the bout, but from the 9th round on he was trying to get Mikey out of there. Mikey did a great jub surviving even though he knew he wasn't winning.

Exactly.... He went for it a couple times. He boxed beautifully and had the right gameplan. He wont get a KO in every fight. He tried he failed but won every round so... He hurt Mikey to the bdy a few times too. Not bad at all.
According to compubox (take it as u will) the man threw over 1,080 punches in the fight. How the **** is that holding back, what was he supposed to do? Throw 1,300? 1,400?
Did Spence hold back to carry mikey to a decision?
bump video quality to HD and enjoy :boxing:

yeah he held back, Mikey's extra weight made him a sloth, Spence could've gone for the kill anytime after the 7th round but was still cautious. The only time he let it go was the end of the 12th, even Spence's coach wanted him to put the harmless Mikey away!
He def didnt hold back. He wanted the stoppage and went for it. You have to give credit where its due, Mikey although he was out gunned was able to do some small things to keep from getting his head taken off. He did get caught with some good shots but he wasnt eating combinations cleanly.
He went for the ko several times, even in the last two rounds when he could have coasted, jabbing and staying outside. Mikey has a very good defense and a pretty good chin, I'd say.

Not at all... He went for the KO a few times and Mikey took it. I thought he could have finished him to.the body. Mikey didn't like those hard body shots

No, Mikey's defense was pretty good. I had to laugh when somewhere in the middle of the fight between rounds they wanted to show some action from the previous round. They showed Spence throwing a combination but when they slowed it down it was apparent that not a single punch penetrated Mikey's guard.
lol yeah his first ppv event, at home, on a big platform he decided to give half an effort :pat:
He said in post-fight, he was surprised Mikey was able to take his shots. He was trying to punish Mikey...he just never hurt him bad.
