DAZN is offering Wilder a three fight deal. 20 million vs. Breazeale. 40 million vs. Joshua. 50 million vs. Joshua in a rematch if he wins the first fight and 30 million in a rematch if he loses the first fight.
We don't know if he'd end up earning 50 million or 30 million in the rematch, so let's average it to 40 million for the rematch. Plus 40 for the first fight and 20 for Breazeale.
That's 100 million for a three fight deal. Tyson Fury's deal is supposedly 100 million for five fights. Canelo's deal is 365 million for 11 fights.
By hook or by crook, if Wilder ends up with 100 million guaranteed for three fights, is that the biggest per fight average for a TV deal in boxing history? Mayweather's Showtime deal was six fights, 180 million.
I'm not saying Wilder does or does not deserve this kind of money. I'm not saying Wilder's drawing power justifies this kind of money.
But for a guy being urged not too long ago to accept 12.5 flat to go to the UK to face Joshua, it's incredible how this has turned out.
That's very good news for Deontay Wilder. I couldn't have been more proud of him. He is finally getting his just due after years of being low-balled by managers, networks and promoters.
The truth is, he has been unfairly compensated and underappreciated for years. It took Mayweather nine years to finally get his just due and fairly compensated and now it has taken Deontay Wilder eleven to get his.
A 3 fight deal worth $100mil is plain awesome for a country boy in the Deep South from state of Alabama. I must admit, that he has come a very long way since that time.
Where are the obnoxious AJ fans now who were saying that $15M for Wilder vs AJ was a fair number? Here's a big helping of crow, chow down.
Even worse, most of them were insisting Wilder should take the initial 12.5 flat fee for a fight in the UK.
Now it's looking like he's going to get 40 million for a fight in the US.
"Hi, I just registered, but my friends are ultra connected and I'll write things without providing any sources. Please take me seriously, I have no agendas, pinky promise."
You don't feel stupid mocking me when I've already been proven correct?
ESPN is reporting that Wilder would make at least 20 million vs. Breazeale and more than double that vs. Joshua. The 30 & 50 figures for a Joshua rematch were told to me by a friend that's a higher up at MSG that usually has accurate boxing gossip.

Yes, I have relatives in Oz who are boxing fans and wishing the same thing. I can't get DAZN in the UK either, and we've been looking at the possibilty of using VPNs to get round the problem.
Yer at the moment I just go down to my local pub and get to watch all the fights for free but sometimes I'm not able to for some reason which is why I want DAZN so I can watch it no matter what.
If wilder and Joshua don’t fight Fury, then Arum is going to look REALLY bad as Fury UD’s Rivas, Jennings, Pulev, Parker and...some other guy.
He'll be alright, he'll probably just claim he's a boogeyman and get away with it as is common place on boxing nowadays across the divisions.
Also already said he doesn't want Parker even though Parker said he'd take the fight.
Fury and Parker are good friends, so maybe that's why Tyson isn't keen on fighting him. Having seen Joe struggle so badly to do anything against Fury Lite - aka Hughie - I think the big guy would handle him pretty easily.
As long as it gets Wider and AJ in the ring together that's all its about for me.
I'm glad they are all getting paid well.
DAZN can really make some noise in the industry with the fighters they have and are trying to get.
Just wish DAZN would hurry up and let us Aussies become subscribers.

If true (and without sources this. Hold be pure rubbish) I just hope it’s enough to entice wilder to sign so we can hopefully finally get this matchup with AJ
Surely it has to be.
It would be incredible if he got this deal. However the only reason he’s getting it is because of Anthony Joshua. Regardless good for him hopefully he accepts it
I hope he accepts it too ... but not because it would be good for him. It would be good for us! :lol1:

Amazing isn't it? Hearn has been saying for ages "just talk to me" and now look! Without Joshua being such a star, and without Hearn, Wilder would not have got this deal on his own merit. Hearn has proven all his 'used car salesman' critics wrong. He is the deal maker. He is the rain man. And together he and AJ have breathed massive life into boxing in general and HW boxing in particular.
Wilder is too bitter to acknowledge this, but he owes Hearn (and Joshua) big time.
