Espn still has its hurrays here and there plus they got best fighter in the world rn in Loma, Crawford and now Fury.
Fox has its future stars and fighters still just holding on to there star power.
Showtime if they lose Wilder to Dazn idk what else tgey got left really Claressia Sheilds is the best draw for US female fight fans but other than that who else they got?
They're doing very well in such a short space of time.
Those who said they won't do anything of note could never have foreseb that Canelo and GGG would both be signing to it within 6 months of it's launch, along with Joshua, Usyk and more and it keeps growing...
For 10 bucks a month, they are the best thing for any boxing lover like me. Fights almost every Saturday night. Can’t beat that. I can get probably 4-5 years of DAZN for the amount I’ve paid for US PPV in my life.
No, but they do have the best combined stable in boxing with Golden Boy+Matchroom
GBP staple is weak Matchroom really only has Jacobs and he is not really a name both of their stables combined is not as good as Toprank not even close
"Conquer" what exactly? It is still so many good fighters fighting outside of DAZN so it will be IMPOSSIBLE for JUST DAZN, PBC/Fox/Showtime, Top Rank/ESPN to "CONQUER" anything when it is so many fighters from ALL OVER signed to different Promoters and Networks. It is a Marathon not a Sprint, you will see ALL of them have their Big Fights and Big Moments in the sport.
More Viewership on ESPN and FOX so they will be able to build up and showcase young fighters better. While DAZN need guys who are more "ESTABLISHED" right now to drive up Subscribers and Viewership. It is plenty of talent in the sport and enough Saturdays in a Year for ALL of them to have Big Fights for the Fans
They're definitely in a position to become the dominant force in the sport. It's just a question of whether it turns out to be a profitable enterprise from the point of view of the people who've dumped so much money into it.
They've disrupted boxing that's for sure. Traditional players have all gone PPV, here's an online subscription model. If the numbers (spend vs subscription fees) actually make sense for them, then they could take over.
Maybe we're headed for a UFC model where one organisation runs the sport. If that happens then the alphabet organisations will lose power.
I think we would all want that to happen.
I don't see why Wilder would go back to Showtime. Once he figures out just like Canelo did that DAZN is willing to pay him guaranteed more money than he would earn on PPV then I think he will sign. He won't even have to leave Haymon or sign with Matchroom/Golden Boy. It may not be long term (just two or three fights), but I bet he goes with DAZN.
wilder will certainly take his offer and go back to espinoza and tell him what it is....those guys have a good realtionship and im sure wilder will give him a chance to make a last pitch
you really have no idea what espinoza might pull out of his hat....he very well may convince wilder that the DAZN deal isnt really better than what he can do wilder long term over the next 3 years
you have to look at what DAZN is trying to do...they may pay wilder 15 mil for his next fight...an interim fight....but thats because they know theyll have 100 percent control of AJ/wilder....but at what cost is that to wilder? that pretty much means its guaranteed to go to the UK...and we all know that fight makes MORE money in the US....and its beneficial for wilder to have that fight in the US
sometimes a few extra bucks up front isnt the best thing for your long term outlook
not saying wilder wont go for their offer....but its no guarantee hes walking away from showtime right now either
canelos deal isnt guaranteed either....the only guarantee is his next fight...if jacobs savagely kos canelo and then beats him again in the rematch do you think that canelo is getting 360 million? lol no way....although we know that scenario isnt likely
same with fury...if fury doesnt end up fighting aj or wilder hell never see that 80 million....arum even called the number utter nonsense.....there are no guarantees in boxing except for the fight in front of you
but but wilder is a bum that lost to fury and nobody even knows who he is and all he does is beat bums doe!
now hes potentially a nice addition to a talented roster? lol
just wait till he goes back to showtime! youll be calling him all those things again!

No, but they do have the best combined stable in boxing with Golden Boy+Matchroom and now GGG and maybe even Wilder. They have had a massive impact in the sport for something that has only been around in boxing for less than a year.

Notice you don't hear many people saying that no top fighters will want to fight on an app anymore. The game is changing.
espn has loma who is great...and people want to watch...but they dont have to break any budget since lomas weight class doesnt command big money
crawford is great too...people want to watch him...but they are so desperate for good/named opponents they have to dig up amir friggin khan and pay him 5 mil guaranteed
i havent heard that wilder has officially signed with DAZN yet have you? i think no matter what he will still give the showtime brand a chance to talk to him after hes met with DAZN
showtime more likely has wilders best interest in mind...and will work to get a big fight with AJ here in the US where it will make more money....whereas DAZN will certainly curtail to AJ if thats what AJ wants
sometimes a few extra bucks up front is not worth it in the long run....ive seen it firsthand...i work for a DOD contractor....often times people get lured into taking supervisory jobs there...they flash a nice number and lure them in...most of them are miserable and are basically at the mercy of the company...slaves....forced to be their on the weekends
wilder will go back to espinoza, with haymon, after he talks with DAZN....i think it could go either way...
DAZN will pay wilder 3x what hes really worth for an interim fight if they know they can have 100 percent control of the AJ/wilder fight and that they have the winner locked in for the future......but at what cost? does wilder have to go to the UK first when theres more money for them if the fight is in the US?
It's really too bad they couldn't get everyone over there. We need one platform with all the fighters. They have arguably 3 or 4 of the biggest names in boxing now on board and they have a huge middleweight and possibly Heavyweight fight coming that will be better than anything FOX or Showtime could give us.
