It's my understanding that Whyte v Breazeale was ordered for the WBC Interim title.
Does this mean the winner would have become mandatory?
Whyte is claiming he will sue the WBC if they claim Wilder is making a mandatory defence against Breazeale as he and Breazeale have already been ordered to fight for that mandatory spot and he is not pulling out.
He's claiming that a Wilder defence against Breazeale can only be a voluntary because of what the WBC ordered and he will be the new mandatory.
Fury really screwed things up for Wilder if that's the case :lol1:
Link to where Whyte says that?
Breazeale is getting the next shot, he was due the next shot and WBC only ordered him to face Whyte because they expected Wilder to be unavailable. Now Wilder is available to meet his mandatory, Breazy is still ahead of Whyte in the pecking order.
In an iFL interview last night.
I'm not sure how true it is but we know Whyte v Breazeale was ordered with purse bids set for March 19th and everything.
If that fight was ordered for interim/mandatory then surely if Breazeale pulls out he loses that mandatory slot?
It doesn't matter if Breazeale pulls out for Wilder or not, the argument is that it can't be called a mandatory fight?
