I'm thinking about the Alvarez vs Kovalev rematch as was wondering if there were fights where a fighter lost the first fight by knockout and won the rematch? Only one I can think of is Lewis vs Rahman and McCall and Alvarado vs Rios
Kovalev seems to be the guy who’s more interested what goes on outside the ring
He is not focused , apparently does not take training seriously , and certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed
He has not learnt anything from the first fight , still making exscuses ( Alvarez got lucky , whether he did or not you still got knocked the fugh out ) and personally not the greatest statement to make
Cause if he got lucky that means you fughin stink
The man did not win on the scorecards and luckily
He fughin knocked you out biatch
I see Alvarez winning again most likely by ko but if that doesn’t happen it will be a comfortable wide unanimous decision
Their is no more fear , he is a broken man
No vodka or Buddy can save him
We're naming all of these warriors and their comebacks, then come Kovalev's name. Lol
Dude doesn't have the heart or stamina to bounce back the way most of these guys did. Anything can happen in the ring, but you must ask this....why wasn't Sergey's best good enough the first time out?
He gave Alvarez all he had, gassed out, and got finished. To me, that's waaaay more of a mental hurdle that I don't believe Sergey has the will to overcome at this stage of his career.
Good luck to both guys tomorrow night though!
dude wladimir klitschko is an all time great and one of the best 10-15 HW of all time. and everybody knows it..
You should take a poll on that. I think you will find that your percentages are way off. Even if I agree personally that he's top 15.
You said it yourself...he's already rich smart and healthy. He's only coming back for one thing...the legacy he is denied by the critics who say he dominated in the weakest HW era of modern times. He will come back to cement his place at the top of the HW history book. There is only one way to do that and that's all out aggression. He showed in the first AJ fight that he has everything to be AJ Fury and Wilder combined in one fighter. He will beat them all...in different ways...but he will beat them.

he did not show anything in the AJ fight that showed he can beat tyson fury! joshua did not try and make him keep his hands at home, he wanted him to throw so he could take advantage of an older guy with a bad chin. and you're also completely forgetting that he's been out of the ring completely, joshua is WAY ****ING BETTER than he was, and wladimir is going to be 43 by the time he gets his boxing license back.
with what?
styles make fights, dog. klitshcko will throw even less against fury, and joshua's flat out better than he was in 2017. you should expect him to beat klitschko's ass! he's got a puncher's chance, but that's it!
i still think he beats wilder, that guy is never going to learn.

I disagree.

no way klitschko comes back. he doesn't need to box any more. he's rich and he's a very capable guy.
and if he does come back the only guy i can see hiim beating is wilder. fury will just do what he did in the first fight, wladimir will be reluctant to throw and incredibly rusty. joshua would put a beating on him before he could get going, and i doubt wladimir's chin would hold out at this age after a layoff.
wilder he may very well spark. it's too easy to make him miss, wladimir would have enough tricks. and fury was able to bully wilder hwen he held, you bet your ass klitschko will toss him around. might not be tall enough to lean on him like he used to do to guys who were shorter, but he will tax wilder's little legs enough to let him get into the fight.
and i really think once wladimir gets going he'd put a beating on wilder. styles make fights.
I disagree.
Amir Khan vs Prescott. No wait....
But on a serious note...I think you will be able to add Klitschko vs Joshua too pretty soon. For all this to and fro between AJ - Wilder and Fury....I honestly think that Wlads 3 fight deal is going to see him finally become unified undisputed champion. He will fight Fury first...then AJ....and finally in the biggest heavyweight fight in history given it's historical importance...Klit will dethrone Wilder for all the marbles.

it's happened quite a few times. most of the examples you'll find are obviously at HW, where everybody can punch and anything can happen.
louis lost to schmeling and knocked him out in the rematch
patterson was dropped 7 times against johannsen and won two rematches via knockout
ezzard charles got knocked out by lloyd marshall and stopped him. did it again against a guy named john holman late in his career after getting beat up by rocky marciano.

I'm thinking about the Alvarez vs Kovalev rematch as was wondering if there were fights where a fighter lost the first fight by knockout and won the rematch? Only one I can think of is Lewis vs Rahman and McCall and Alvarado vs RiosIt happens all the time. Joe Louis was KOed by Schmeling in 12 rounds and Louis KOed him in the first round of the rematch. Wlad KOed a couple of guys who had knocked him out. Tony Zale KOed Rocky Graziano then Graziano KOed Zale and then Zale KOed Rocky in the third fight. Johansson KOed Patteson and Patterson KOed him twice in return bouts.
There are plenty of examples. Castillo knocked out Corrales in the rematch. Vasquez knocked out Marquez in their second fight. Klitschko stopped Lamon Brewster the second time. Adonis Stevenson beat Darnell Boone in a rematch. Jean-Marc Mormeck beat Owen Bell in a Cruiserweight title rematch after being Ko'd the first time. Cotto beat Margarito in the rematch. I could go on for a while here...
Picking Kovalev btw.
Mormeck vs bell was great. Man that brought it back.
