ANTHONY YARDE will finally get his wish when he challenges for the WBO world light heavyweight title later this year. I am a massive fan of the Ilford fighter and, as his promoter, have been watching him edge closer and closer to a title tilt. Now the WBO have declared that Yarde will meet the winner of next Saturday's fight between champion Eleider Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev. Click Here To Read More]
Just bumping up this thread. Anyone thinks that Yarde will actually step up this year? Or do you think, that after this performance of Kovalev, he will keep fighting nohopers in the UK instead?
Ah, so you're saying Warren's protecting his investment long enough to cash out on him in a failed title shot?
Probably about right, but it's a shame - given the right coaching and progression route from the start, Yarde could have been a lot more than an emergency cash-out meal ticket.
Yes but it does not make sense businesswise.
if he is just a ticket seller get him the right fights because a bit like Mark Prince and others get world title shot and get knocked out and never seen again.
A pity
NO He does not he knows full well Yarde will be exposed, He cannot beat either one even a shot Kovalev he has not fought a decent fighter in his whole career then gets a title shot similar to Liam Smith very sad:werd:

Warren really needs Yarde to fight at least a fringe contender before he gets him a title shot. Regardless of the skewed justice of getting a title shot by fighting nobodies, if your class of opponent goes from journeymen straight to a world champ then you're likely going to end up on your ass pretty damn quick.

Yarde hasn't fought anyone with a pulse, then he'd be going straight into an elite title fight? If this happens it would be a massacre. Here's hoping it does!
Here we go again Fi$h £yed Frank & the lowly WBO strike again! Yarde's not even won English, British, Commonwealth or European(WBO Euro belt don't count) title's yet. Surly something needs to be done about this racket!!......
