Tell me when the “Prize” in “Prizefighting” wasent money? A prize can be anything, it just means u had to “win” it somehow. I don’t know where ur coming from. Have u seen a scratch and win? Trophies...belts....in Germany giant wreaths.

The top end earners are obviously bringing $ to the table to warrant their purses With attendance, TV $ , International fights there’s lots of $ to be made only right if most go towards the fighter generating it I doubt any promoter or advisor would continue paying if they constantly lost $ on these fights.

Theses guys put life in line they deserve pay. Footballers though don't get me started there. My only issue is though if they get paid too well how hungry as fighters will they be?Will we get fights we want? Floyd was paid too well so you get impression legacy went out of window. You really would need to care about legacy to let money not effect route of career. Hagler once said it's hard to train w hen you sleep in silk pyjamas or something along those lines so do electricians. thats not the reason they get paid a lot so not sure why people always say that. they get paid a lot because there is a market or at least a perceived market in some fighters cases that is propped up artificially. floyd is the jarmarcus russell of boxing. they gave him lots of money so he didnt even try. you are going to give me 30 million to fight guerrero hmmm ok. even in his prime he was making smart decisions. 3 million for sharmba or 7 for margarito? yeah easy decision.

It's prize fighting for the BOXERS not for us. You say it's about money, but so is the food you eat, the shows you watch, the tv you watch it on. Sometimes I like to b*tch about the price of all those things too. It’s a boxing forum right? This thread was about how much money boxers make. The only thing worth commenting on last weeks fight is how much Broner got paid to lose every round. I totally understand ur sentiment but boxing is money. We can run our mouth about who would win AJ v Wilder but unless they sort the money we get no pay off. People fight outside the bar all the time, no one cares cause they ain’t getting paid. Between fights it’s all we have to b*tch about, and all the promoters talk about. I don’t have thousands of posts, so I wish there was more with talking about. I think it's great. Big money attracts big talent. Who wants to train their ass off and risk injury or even death for small money?

More of that money should filter down to the poor schmoes on the undercard but no. More money needs to go to all of the fighters on the cards. They're risking their lives every time they step in the ring. Don King and Bob Arum have hundreds of millions, they should feel ashamed of themselves.
