Pacquiao signed a two-fight deal with Haymon. Who will be next?
Ellerbe mentioned that Thurman or DSG could be next for Pacman

and also, stylistically, who would be an entertaining matchup?
haymon's stable of 147 is deep though. he doesnt really need to do that. spence can fight thurman, porter, danny g, and maybe even crawford. and if he cleaned them out, then he can become a star in that way as compare to a win over pac.
haymon can then make mikey vs pac if mikey loses to spence. and then haymon still has all those other guys i've mention above for spence. if mikey loses to spence, a fight against pac would be perfect to try and regroup. pac is on his way out so im sure haymon doesnt really give shiiet about manny at this point.
Sure his stable is deep, but a win over Pacquiao does more for Spence's name than a win over Porter. Pacquiao still has name value and is one of the most popular fighters in the world TIL THIS DAY (Wilder voice) LOL.
But yeah, even if Spence doesn't get Pacquiao, he has plenty of other options to increase his popularity.
i agreed, thurman is the best credible guy at 147. but then again, thurman's been out for how long now? if pac beats thurman then the excuses is in already.
just make spence vs manny and call it a day so there wont be any excuses afterward. its a win win fight for manny anyways since nobody would expect him to fight spence at this point of his career so win lose or draw it'll be a nice look on his legacy.
I would respectfully disagree there: Thurman, despite inactivity, has fought on Fox in front of over 3 million people against Guerrero and will probably do another huge number against Lopez on Fox this weekend. Spence last fought against Peterson and it did 700k. Not his fault, different network, but the fact is that Thurman is going to be a much better foe when it comes to selling PPV buys due to where he is in his career vs where Spence is.
Whether hardcore fans want to give Pacquiao credit or not is irrelevant to his handlers, and I think it's fair to say that Pacquiao fights whoever brings him the most money (or, whoever his handlers says they'll pay him the most money to fight) ten times out of ten.
To me, Thurman is the best intersection when it comes to credible opponents vs winnable fights. He's also probably the most marketable to sell a PPV. If Pacquiao is really going to fight one of these young lions, Thurman would be an epic way to go out.

If he wants to fight Mikey then that is fine as well. But for Haymon does that make sense? I mean if Mikey wins then it is a no-brainer, but if he loses it makes more sense to continue the momentum with Spence. You are looking to make future stars and Spence is the one with the most potential at WW in his stable. A win over Pacquiao would be one way to make that happen. As I said in the other thread, Haymon isn't giving Pacquiao all these huge pay days without getting something back in return from him.

Pacquiao should not take a fight with the winner which will almost certainly be Spence. He should fight Mikey instead because that is a fight he can win. Spence will knock Pacquiao out if they fight in my opinion. MAN DOWN!

If not Floyd, then the winner of Spence/Garcia.Pacquiao should not take a fight with the winner which will almost certainly be Spence. He should fight Mikey instead because that is a fight he can win. Spence will knock Pacquiao out if they fight in my opinion. MAN DOWN!
Danny Garcia is a good fight that Pacquiao has a good chance of winning. Porter would be interesting but it would be an ugly fight like the Horn one, I don't think that's a good style matchup for Pacquiao. Thurman, maybe, depending on how he looks in his return.
I think Mikey Garcia vs Pacquiao is a great style matchup and will be viewed as 50-50 in the people's eyes. Would be really good, but he is fighting Spence tho so that's too bad
