Pacquiao was reportedly complaining about pain and vision loss in his left eye. One source said, “He told me it was like covering one eye with his hand.’’
He's apparently scheduled to fly home to the Philippines on Monday to be examined by an eye specialist. According to the first camp source, the fear is that Pacquiao may have suffered a detached retina, an injury that would likely derail a proposed July rematch with Mayweather and could potentially end his career.
Another camp member told the Daily News the injury was relatively minor, a corneal scratch from the tape on one of Broner’s gloves, an injury Pacquiao has suffered in previous fights.
If Pacquiao is cleared to fight again, will his team let him fight guys like Spence, Thurman, Porter, or the Garcias (Danny & Mikey), if Broner was able to detach his retina?

Sounds like a injury of unknown severity not a "reported detached retina".
And idk what his age would have to do with it if its a detached retina or a lesser eye injury as some are bringing up. This is f#cking boxing you f#cking dummies. Mfers can get eye injuries at 18 to 50 in a boxing match.
There could be an issue with the number of fights one has & damage over time, but to what I saw it seemed like Manny had issues with his eye due to the alleged laces from Broner's gloves. I believe thats the same eye being discussed & its not unreasonable or uncommon for laces in your eyes to give you some eye issues.
This is much ado about nothing til Manny gets checked out by a eye doctor.
The point is as you age you are more prone to injuries, blood vessels are weaker, bones are weaker, muscle tears easier. So being old makes him more prone to injuries such as this.
Is this not common knowledge in your part of the world? What is aging, hmm..
I did notice him grimacing at the press conference at his eye
I noticed it too. They were trying to say he had a cold, but colds don't make you behave like that.
Thread title is misleading. It’s a corneal scratch, not a detached retina. These haters looking for any excuse to shyt on Manny.
I'm not hating on Pacquiao, it was a dominate win for Pac but depending on the source it may either be a detached retina or a scratched cornea.
It may be a minor injury. But Pacquiao may want people to believe it's not too bad so he can continue fighting. That Mayweather rematch would net both fighters huge money.
Pacquiao needs to retire, man. Hate to see an old legend eventually get KTFO at the end of their career.
This is not good. Needs to stay far away from Spence/Thurman/Crawford/Porter.
Sugar Ray Leonard suffered a detached retina and his final fight ended at age 40 with him getting knocked out by Hector Camacho. Pacquiao may refuse to retire and he could suffer the same fate.

Old man falling apart.
Seems that way if he suffers any injury like this during a dominate win.
