If his camp is able to convince him to go back to lower division, if his body can still take it. He would rule over there with his size and great speed--he will truly be called 'the problem' there. With his size, he could weight-bully those lower division guys and look really good doing it. It's called stacking odds in your favor. 99% are doing it so why not Broner too.
It's okay not everyone is Pacquiao where he can succeed climbing up weight after weight and then eventually settle fighting these natural welterweights until the end of his career. See most of the recent cause of crumbling careers in recent years was due to over-climbing in weight divisions. Rigo, Donaire, Khan, Brook etc .. and now watch out it's Mikey Garcia's turn, these guys are spectacular in their own right but they all eventually succumbed to size disadvantage.
Broner reached his level around 2014 when he barely beat Paulie.
The guy is no where near the top level at 147, he'd struggle at 140 and no way he'll ever reach 135 again with his lifestyle.
Instead of trying to improve and live an athletes lifestyle he was stupid enough to believe his hype and now gets paid well for dancing, trash talk and losing.
AB is a well paid idiot, a boxing clown if you like.
There are fighters who gave their everything and came up short never to be seen again yet we keep giving Broner who does ****-all on the night breaks. Why? Oh because he has potential and he might just actually turn up to fight next time? Enough already with this ****ing timewaster.
He will never be anywhere near the best fighter in any weight class be it 135, 140 or 147. Mikey beat the hell out of him at 140 and others can do the same. He is just a decent fighter and nothing special. Pacquiao really beat him 119 to 109 and the scorecards were very generous to Broner. Pacquiao could easily make 140 and beat Broner at that weight even easier and he is 40 to Broner's 29.
--- All About Bail was cashed out by Haymon was really looking stupid keeping him propped up in the ring.
No talent whatsoever save the the age old gimme against lower level fighters.
Little feather Ponce de Leon whipped that candied ass all over the ring and feather duster big mouth Paulie couldn't miss his dummy mug.
In an early postfight wit Larry Merchant he described himself as "dog doodoo you can't get off your shoe," a prescient moment for him as the boxing public will be stuck with him for the next few years until the Big House finally snaps him up.
You musta forgot that Mikey, a lightweight, kicked his ass at 140. And Ponce De Leon was whooping on him too. Broner just isn't very good man when will you accept it ?
In lower weights, Broner will find that the impact of the punches are more acceptable, that might help him open-up more. Maidana indeed gave him some traumatic moments and made him a bit gun shy than he was before. Going back at lower weights is the key to getting back that lost mojo. There is this great feeling when you know you're just too strong and faster than your opponent, this will help him go back to his old flamboyant self.
At this point it’s a fact he can’t hang at WW
If he got serious ( which I doubt he can at this point ) and get to 140 a division that’s rather shallow he could make some noise there he probably wouldn’t be too dog but you’d think he’d be able to compete against among the best of what the division has to offer at this point
Broner has to also let his hands go and commit to making it a fight l but ever since the Maidana beat down Broner seems content with cashing cheques and taking Ls as long as he doesn’t get beat down and embarrassed again which is the wrong strategy to have in this sport.
Can he do these things probably not but he’s only 1 win away from everyone jumping back on his d.ick the only thing is will he catch more Ls and just stop being a draw and fade away into obscurity before he gets it.
Yes he can he’s 29. Still have the natural gifts. Just not putting them all together. Haven’t taken a beating either ala cotto v marg or hatton v pac. His problems maintain to be mental, he needs someone who’ll shout at him and wake him up.
Dude works harder than me in life, and is way richer than i am so i can’t criticize much more
