He looked old and unable to land. Yes he did land two hard shots and flurries after that, but he was having a very difficult time landing.
Pacquiao won more rounds, probably 9-3 but there were a lot of close rounds were he barely won those rounds.
Maybe Broner was a bad matchup from him. Maybe Broner defends well against southpaws, I don't know.
He looked vulnerable and desperated to land at times and if Broner was some other welterweight he could have landed something big on him.
The fight sucked apart from 2-3 rounds.
I streamed it so maybe I'm wrong but let's keep it real. It was no domination.

Hes 40 years old the f**k did you expect to see???
Well we need to see it. But my instinct tells me that this will be another pac-marg.
spence isnt a punching bag like marg.. manny hasnt even fought a southpaw in over 10 years
By the computer punch count Pacquiao beat Broner by a wider margin than anyone Broner ever fought including Mikey, Porter and Maidana. He landed a lot more punches in every round except round 4 in which Broner landed 8 punches to his 7 punches. He threw over twice as many punches as Broner. 563 punches to 294 punches. He landed more than twice as many punches as Broner. I think it was about 110 landed punches for Pacquiao and only 50 landed punches for Broner. How is this such a poor performance? No he isn't nearly as good as the Pacquiao who beat the hell out of Oscar, Cotto and Hatton but he is still as good or better than top pfp fighter Mikey who is 9 years younger. He just beat the hell out a top 10 world rate welterweight. Boxing scene scored the fight 119 to 109 for Pacquiao giving Broner only round 4. They had the Mikey vs Broner fight closer than that.
You know what's unpleasant?
That post-fight interview with Broner. Dude was a sore loser

Still Fast enough with enough Power and EXPERIENCE to beat most of these guys at 147 honestly :dunno:
I'm not giving guys wins over Pacquiao just because they're younger sorry...PROVE IT!
great post!! x1000000!

Exactly. The body work was impressive and opened up everything. Especially in how it allowed him to slip inside and throw the left and land damn near every time.
If anything, Broner's the one who looked old. Pacquiao was fast and throwing volumes of punches, as usual. It's hard to land on someone who's willing to sacrifice their own offense to avoid being hit.
this right here!! haters always ignored this part!! pac's opponents completely switch up their style when they go up against manny! then haters always complain and say "well so and so did better against that guy while manny went all 12 rounds with him".. yeah because that guy was trying to survive while they werent against the other guys.
great example is pac vs algieri and spence vs aglieri. when pac fought algieri, it was a totally different match up since algieir was running and trying to survive the whole time where as when he fought spence, he was actually coming forward and being aggressive up to the point where he got caught! then haters come in and be like "pac couldnt even stop algieri when spence could", etc.

You will never look pleasant against defensive minded fighter who isnt willing to fight back. He also had a cold.... and even with those two things I was still very impressed with his performance. *slaps you across the face* You get worse every year as a poster.
He’s still good but not good enough to continue fighting above his weight. He can give up the years or he can give up the weight but can’t do both, not anymore. The best welters would be too much for him. Loma or even Garcia might be competitive fights he might or might not win.
The mayweather, Bradley 3 and fights from then on have shown us a man impersonating pacquiao... Yet he is still good enough to almost beat them all.
If that was a prime pac, broner may have been in hospital.
Agreed.
Pac's done IMO... It was great to see him last night and hats off to him for being able to do that at 40.
It's difficult to explain but he doesn't seem to have that snap and raw explosiveness anymore.
I remember watching a prime Pac... always rocking from side to side with that lateral movement, throwing a combo, angle, another combo, another angle... He'd probably eat a shot in the process but shake it off. He was always unorthodox but that was part of the intrigue. There are not many fighters in history who you can watch and be completely blown away by, Pacs one of them. I'll never forget what he did to David Diaz, Hatton, Cotto and Margarito.
At the weigh-in, he was in shape but looked soft... He's got that old man muscle now.
Its been a pleasure Pac... Plan a few safe-ish fights and then call it a day. You have nothing else to prove.
He is ****ing 40 years old. He IS old.
I would say he looked pretty good for a 40 year old. Clearly a man who has a lot of talent to still compete like he is at 40. One of the best ever.
He looked old, well he is.
Plus he had the flu.
I've been calling for him to retire for sometime. After Vargas I said he should just fight some bum in his country and retire.
