My favourite sport is boxing, then Premier league football (soccer) in the UK, which is where I am from. But do get quite a lot of American sports on Sky/BT sports here now, especially in recent years. Here are my thoughts on some and I'd like an American fan perspective.
NBA - Really like watching it and if it was on at a better hour would watch a lot.
NHL - Again, I really enjoy NHL, as much as basketball.
NFL - Don't see any appeal. Have tried watching several games, but just seems like an inferior version of rugby to me, and I'm not a fan of of rugby.
Baseball - Again, I have found it really hard to get into, and seems a bit like cricket, but a lot worse. Are NFL and Baseball better than they seem to me or not?
yeah, they had plans of putting a park downtown too that fell through. That team would have sold out nightly. Hell, they were getting decent crowds at the Big O' and that's a chithole that was falling apart. The roof literally collapsed during a game once.
You got that right
It will happen I know that and when it does MLB will be shocked to see the crowds and support for the team
Montreal is a rock’n’roll city
Boxing was dead here at one time and now they get 15000 at fights
Baseball will work but need’s to be in the city ( downtown )
Rex you lived in mtl or always to
Now that was a fughin highway robbery
The spos should of never left
Now struggling to get a team back
Montreal is a baseball town ( let em find room downtown to build stadium and watch , every night will be a sellout )
That fuguer Loria

It took me some time to get into NFL but once I did I loved it. It's very different to Rugby, which I also enjoy but for different reasons. Gridiron is more stop/start, but the action is explosive and there's a lot of depth to the game as you learn more about it.
NBA has some of he greatest athletes in the world doing incredible things on a regular basis.
Baseball is one I've never managed to get into. Although I do love the sense of history around it, that it's a working class sport that's managed to thrive into the modern era. The arenas are amazing, just never been that into the game itself, but that's probably down to me.
NHL / Hockey Never watched a full game bar the Olympic final maybe? , just seen clips. Never found it that easy to follow, never felt much inclined to put time in to correct that.
Lots of you mentioning boxing, I wouldn't class that as a primarily American sport in the same way as NFL, Baseball or Basketball. of.
Plus you’re in Montreal right? You guys have always been baseball crazy. Was a shame the expos couldn’t get a park

Boxing
Football (LFC fan)
MotoGP
Don't like any US sport, although I haven't tried to like it to be fair.
some season for you so far .. look pretty close to unbeatable
Cant get into American football , why call it football its ****ing rugby with shoulder pads and crash helmets
Baseball is as boring as cricket
Basketball is alright
Obviously boxing is the best
Just combat sports for me with boxing being my no.1, I'll pop in for a Superbowl if one of my friends throw a barbecue for it to get free food. Other than that, all ball sports are just boring af to me.
I only watch Boxing and Baseball.
American Football and Soccer sucks. Fuk football sht is so boring.I somewhat agree with you about American Football due to them taking out all of the sticking and hitting out of the sport. Today it's just a water downed version of the sport due to all the rule changes.
Definitely can be, of course. But for example, I'd watch the NBA a lot here if it was on at a better time, but wouldn't watch UK basketball league due to much inferior standard. So just thinking some people might be of the same people, but not all of course.
I could see that. Americans tend to prefer sports where they're being represented, but I could understand why some wouldn't like the sport. For instance, there are a lot of top American players in the NHL and America tends to do pretty well on the world stage. And most of the hockey teams are American, but most American sport fans still can't get into it.
Couldn't it be simply because they dislike the sport? I can't stand football/soccer personally and it has nothing to do with Canada not being represented. The pace and anticlimactic nature of the sport are why I can't get into it.

So an American sport that the participants are 85% black doesn't appeal to you? I wonder why that is...........
Bullcrap!. I have watched the NBA for more than 20 years and the 3-point, no defence crap they have served up in the last 5 years is absolutely dire.
And stop the crap about race. It is simply idiotic that seemingly everything has to about race for some posters.
Some good responses. I see quite a few dislike football (soccer) Maybe due to being American and the quite low standard of the MLS.
