Massive size. Looked Mike Tyson esque.
If he acclimates, he takes on anyone at 168. Maybe doesnt push them around like he did with Fielding, but for me, he comes in as the favorite vs anyone at 160 and 168.
We're witnessing a future ATG.
Depends who is at 175 at the time. If its smaller guys that moved up, then maybe. I posted detailed stats before but basically 175 is where they start getting the frame to be competitive at heavyweight.
Look at the reach and height of guys like Dawson, Tarver, Stevenson ect Canelo is too small to compete with a natural light heavy that is skilled.
I agree. 175 would have to be a Roy Jones/Ruiz strategy. Get in, grab your legacy belt and get out.
I think 168 is still within range. His body is capable of handling that size of an opponent.
Too late for "Zurdo" Ramirez. After Fridays win he said he's moving up to light Heavy weight.
But I agree 100% with you Zurdo and Smith are much taller 6'2" and 6'4" with a reach advantage well over 4 inches. They both know how to use their height and reach advantage. Smith KO'ed Fielding in the first round and George Groves in the 7th.
I think people are vastly overrating Canelo's win over Fielding. As many people have said beforehand, Fielding is a very limited fighter and not a very durable one either. Callum Smith took him out inside a round
Thank you!
The sky is the limit for Canelo right now.
If he wants, he can unify at 160 and 168 AT THE SAME TIME.
If he keeps this up, even 175lbs doesn't seem out of the question in the distant future.

I think if Canelo fights the top at the division like vs Callum Smith and Gilberto Ramirez they are pick'em fights depending on style. If Smith can keep Canelo on the outside he can win for sure. That would be a great fight

Ward needs to come out of retirement.

U support a cheater that's koo. That's life though, ****ty people come out on top.
Canelo ATG? LOL. His best wins are a loss to Lara and two gifts a washed up GGG who was overrated. And yes failed PED tests.
He’s a good fighter that’s it. You gotta have a low standard for ATG to think he’s that or zero knowledge of boxing history.
He’s laughable next to Marquez for example.
It most likely wouldn't have been the cakewalks GGG was enjoying prior to Nelo and Jacobs. I don't want to hear about GGG's age. He looks like a world beater vs a certain level of opponent and suddenly ages vs another. Which is it ?
Odviously a world beater.
He beat Jacobs, had a draw against Nelo and a close decision in the second.
I would say that is world class.
Actually......
Is it fair to say the toughest fights GGG had were Nelo and Jacobs ? Had GGG fought guys like Nelo and Jacobs earlier in his career........
Hes not a bum but hes not the boogeyman either.
If it was earlier in his career would it have been a different outcome though??
technically, a punch is a punch. Especially if said punches dont cause any ill effect/damage.
If Nelos body blows didn't phase GGG and GGGs jab didn't phase Nelo, you have to score those punches even.
Imho, Nelo gave the 1st fight away and GGG just barely ''won'' (or should have). I was literally cursing at my tv every time Nelo backed up.
GGG didn't want none of that stand and trade action like he said he did.
But it did because as you said, GGG didn't want none.
GGG loves to slap dudes around. Except against Canelo he couldn't. The sting from engaging against Canelo was too much.
Anyway, agree to disagree. :beerchug:
Just goes to show anyone calling GGG a hype job or bum should really think before the write.
GGG MATCHED Canelo for a draw and got beaten by him by a slim margin.
Anyone calling the G a bum is disregarding Canelos skills.
I don't have anything against GGG, but he needed to accept his loss like a man. Goes for his fans too.
Who's fault is it he only used jabs against Canelo?
Who's fault is it he only threw 5 body shots all fight?
Who's fault is it his face looked jacked up after the fight?
