They turned down big big money to fight AJ.
Took on Fury as they saw an opportunity to earn decent money against a fighter they saw as easy pickings due to his circumstances.
However Fury exposes Wilder by completely outboxing him. They should have lost this fight as the fans realise Fury won.
So if Wilder loses the rematch which Is highly likely due to Fury now being fitter and sharper than before the big money AJ fight is gone.
They have made a huge error due to greed and hatred of Hearn.
Fury is most def the best choices... rematch clause makes it a 2 fight deal... if Wilder wins he fights AJ if he loses the rematch clause goes into effect against Fury. AJ on the outside looking in.
No mistake by Team Wilder. They never wanted the Joshua fight, they wont want the Fury rematch either after their lucky escape in the 1st fight.
What they will do is fight big Dom Breazeale and try charge people 70 Dollars to watch it on PPV, cuz Wilders a big PPV star now. That will bomb big time and then MAYBE Finkel and DiBella will go crawling back to Hearn looking for a payout.
It seems an American fighter who ducks people is invisible to Americans. But dont worry yanks the rest of the world can see a protected ducker when we see one. 41 fights 39 bums and needed illegal assistance in the 2 other fights which were also cherrypicks just cherry picks gone wrong.
Ask yourselves these questions.
Who is likely to win a rematch between Fury and Wilder?
Is the AJ match still there or anywhere near as big if Wilder loses?
AJ and Hearn win regardless as if Fury wins then AJ v Fury is huge. Wilder will go to the bottom of the pile and have to earn a shot again and would lose to the likes of another fighter he avoided such as Whyte or Joyce.
This is what desperation smells like. Helen Keller can see who made the mistake: The hater promoter whose felt the temperature go up 100 degrees lately. What happened to Wilder’s gotta get past Dillian Whyte 😂😂😂
There is no doubting that wilder was selective. He has been his whole career, his only two step ups you could argue was a 40 year old man who has never fought top10 opposition before and Fury who has been out three years and couldn’t knock low level opposition out of the ring in his second comeback.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but at the time you have to say fury was a great choice, should have been a perfect time to take him on and been an easy win for a good name on his resume - and wilder does need that.
He has built up his reputation a bit more and had a ppv which you could argue did “ok”? But as it manifested itself maybe a draw was better for both with the increased popularity? Wilder isn’t helping himself with his antics / sour grapes approach since the fight though - he should be revelling in the increased fame.
Now though he has a clear choice - Tyson fury rematch or Anthony Joshua for undisputed. Given his struggles against both Ortiz who outboxed him and then Fury who outclassed him completely he is going to have think long and hard and see what money is available. Will he want to potentially turn down his chance to become undisputed for a rematch and potentially never have that one fight chance to change history again?
The more I look at it the more I think wilder would be silly to not take AJ next time, although I don’t criticise him for trying to be opportunistic against Fury - he just didn’t execute the plan
