On Saturday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Deontay Wilder retained his WBC heavyweight title after a thrilling split decision draw with Britain's Tyson Fury. The hard-hitting Wilder knocked Fury down twice, including a brutal right-left combination that sent the towering Fury to the canvas in the 12th in what initially looked to be the end of the fight. Based on what? Two guys that have padded records with only one notable win each duked it out and all of a sudden the guy with more accolades is out of the picture. Typical sound bite, pop generation BS.
Fury would be a pain in ass for anyone to beat, but I think AJ would have more variation than Wilder. Wilder, would have to get lucky and catch AJ napping, his hook is looking better soo maybe, but on fundamentals it’s AJ all day, Wilder isn’t going to get hit with jabs against AJ, he won’t be able to be reckless.
perhaps but on the other side of the coin AJ isnt as agile or quick as deontay although at least joshua will be capable of throwing some combinations! i just see joshua not having the cardio to deal with fury over 12 rounds he'd have his moments but i think fury's to crafty for him. anyway Wilder vs Joshua should be happening to compete against Fury considering most regard him as No. 1
AJs agility isn’t great but its improving. Where he has a chance with Fury is he has better boxing ability than Wilder. He needs to go to Furys body frequently in the early rounds, so when Fury slows down he can get to him.
Id love Wilder v AJ in April. That Whyte fight is a waste of time.
Fury will outbox most in the division but I'd give AJ a better chance of laying him out than Wilder. AJ will set up his knockout, Wilder just went looking for it without doing much else.

i think u guys dont appreciate how hard it is fighting a guy like fury at 6'9 and moves like a welterweight..you are all so quick to dismiss wilder but would joshua really do any better. i see fury playing with joshua and i think wilder vs joshua will be a shootout probably a real fight for the ages but fury's ring generalship and fight IQ is way above either wilder or joshua

Amusing seeing all these 'free' opinions about how Fury and Wilder 'definitely' beat Joshua.
If you want the opinion of someone who has money on the line, so doesn't give a toss about any fanboyism, ask a bookie.
Joshua still favourite to beat Wilder and Fury.
Don't under estimate AJ. Yes he has his faults but so does Wilder (One dimensional) and Tyson Fury (Show pony). All it takes is one deadly combination and AJ will snap Wilder in half. He will basically catapult him out of the ring.
this made me laugh  (not because I don't believe it) :lol1:
Fury should've got the decision though, he was blatantly robbed.
I don't see how AJ beats Fury tbh, he's looked rubbish against guys who moved a bit (Takam, Parker) and Fury is far superior to those two.
Joshua comes forward in straight lines and fights in the pocket, easy work for a technician like Tyson.
Yeah that’s what I mean, as he didn’t get the decision against Wilder, I think he might he might get jobbed again against AJ if it came to a decision (I felt the Parker cards were way off).
I think AJ’s struggles with Takam and Parker, and Povetkin for a few rounds is based on their size too. He tends to struggle with smaller opponents for some reason. Well, I say struggle but KO’d Povetkin and won every round until the dodgy stoppage v Takam.
I can see AJ sticking to a decent strategy against Fury and causing him a few problems. Fight would probably be a stinker, and come down to judging preference again.

exactly easy work, these brits dont like fury cos he considers himself irish
The reality is that Deontay will have a punchers chance against absolutely anyone he’s in with.
Styles making fights, I think AJ v Wilder is still a 50/50 fight. If Wilder lands he can absolutely take AJ out, but AJ is becoming a far better boxer than he was. Hard one to call.
I favoured Fury over AJ pre Wilder, but despite Fury’s showing I think I’m now swinging to Joshua. Joshua would fight more intelligently than Wilder, would try to hit the body more. His size and strength would also present a different problem for Fury.
Fury could still outbox him, but if he doesn’t get the decision against Wilder, I can’t see him winning on the cards against Joshua...

Cherry picked Gypsy, who came out of 2,5 years of obesity, alcohol and drug abuse, schooled and exposed Wilder.
No wonder Wilder's team didn't want to hear anything about rematching Gypsy after Wilder got beaten like a dog. Wilder will not rematch Gypsy, neither will he fight AJ.
Hearn's new offer gives Wilder everything they were complaining about the 1st offer (% split and a 2-way rematch), yet they still refuse to accept it. That says all.

Dont see how dudes still defending AJ who act likes he doesnt need to fight the Wilder. Sitting on his ASide crown avoiding Wilder who is supposedly a bum and imo wudnt fight 90year old Ortiz either
im not a wilder fan u clown im an objective fan something u know nothing about. fury would beat both of them easy
You aren’t objective. Your bias is shining through with your ignorant statements.
ahd yes hes right, fury did beat wilder.
i also noticed every former heavyweight campion in attendance dissing joshua for not taking the fights they all clearly would have taken...i guess there all wrong?
That former Champ also said Wilder loses to AJ when they fight "the straighter right hand reache the target first", so if his word is the gospel you'll agree right?
trying to call AJ the best for beating a semi retired wlad. fury would wreck AJ hes stiff as a board has nothing on fury
Third and final time. Wlad was only “semi retired” because he was dicked around by fury. Anyway, Answer my question. Name me a better active heavyweight that Wladimir Klitschko at the time aj fought him. You’re saying aj isn’t willing to fight the best but the fact is he is. When wilder was happy fighting the like of Washington and arreola aj had already made his statement.

Bro, concerning the former champs, there's no right or wrong. Its merely their opinion.
