Another black eye for American boxing. Embarrassing result and the judge who scored it to Wilder should be taken outside and shot! I've got to give credit to Fury, he didn't tire as early as I expected him to AND he was far from negative. The man boxed well and showed serious heart to get up from that final knockdown. 115-111 Fury.
Fact that they need to import a retired star from another country to boost their own will tell you everything about the "dead" state it's in.
Which current American heavyweight would give Wilder that kind of exposure?
My biggest problem with the Canelo GGG fights and the Wilder Fury fight is we all knew before hand which ones would fall foul of a robbery if there is one and which ones would be the beneficiaries of a robbery. And then the ones EVERYBODY thought won did not get given the decision and unsurprisingly it was the same ones we all predicted could get robbed.
I dont think either Canelo GGG 1 or Fury Wilder were completely one sided but to me it seemed neither were close enough to "go either way". Once upon a time people who claimed corruption were conspiracy theorists but the corruption isnt even hidden away behind closed doors these days. It has broken the surface and it happens infront of our very eyes now. Only people still burying their heads in the sand and denying it are the ones whose favourite fighters are the beneficiaries of the corruption and will keep playing it down and denying it while it suits them to do so.
If i remember there was an even worse robbery on the Canelo GGG 1 card but cant remember who it was.
Why would any champion who lacks big KO power come to America just to get robbed by the judges.
It's not even hometown scoring, it is pure corruption.
Those judges got paid.
Imagine fury at 100% wilder only agreed because he thought fury was finished
When the world has its eyes on boxing it always leaves a bitter taste. I used to defend boxing but I can't anymore. This is why MMA is gaining an upperhand and we're losing fans.
Because wilder was champion... It's part of boxing since the beginning.
I too had fury up by 1 rd for a SD but can see the draw because of the 2 knockdowns.
Neither boxer looked like they got beat up after.
And fury didn't completely outland wilder no matter what you believe.
It's not about what I believe, it's what the boxing world believes. The judges are getting panned and rightly so.
Fury had to win more rounds and stay on his feet, that's all, and he did both. Even with the KD's.
What I've noticed here on this site is that people will watch a fight and just give rounds to whomever they want to win and then scream robbery when their favorite fighter doesn't win. How is every close fight a "robbery"? haha
It's not and never has been. But last night's fight wasn't close.

You know when there are clearly paid-off scores in the undercard bouts that the whole show has been compromised and officials are being "leaned on" back stage.
Which isn't hard seeing as boxing is incestuous and the promoters, judges, refs tend to be related through marriage.
So people start predicting that we will see a beyond-explanation scorecard in the main event that alters the result, protects the more connected fighter and sets up a "controversial rematch".
Almost every time they are correct.
But it will keep happening. Because the fans of the fighter who was protected will lash out at the "conspiracy theorists" and this is what the promoters count on. If everyone just agreed somethings up and walked away they'd go broke.
That's the classic Marxist/leftist retort to anything that exposes the truth about an issue..."conspiracy theory". Whenever you here that term tossed about by a large group when there is a growing population of evidence to the contrary, you know the conspiracy theorists are on the right path and those using the term are all in on the coverup effort.

I had it 115-111 as well. You are also very correct, corruption is the #1 cause for boxing's demise in America and it will continue to be corrupt until the sport is all but gone.
It's not just an American thing. Canada is really bad too as far as locally promoted, gang-affiliated fighters. The UK is only marginally better. And Russia? Well maybe the officiating isn't as bad but look at what happened to Denis Boystov when he tried to "stray the path".
Boxing just hasn't come very far in the past century. It's still extremely corrupt and you can still get thrown in front of a train for getting in the way of a plan.

Ggg was the champ and got robbed twice
Oh brother this is what everhone says after every controversial decision. Dude boxing will be fine
Boxing IS in decline in the US though. You are in denial if you, er, deny that.
Fury was stiffed last night. It's sad that its not even surprising.
Big fights and dodgy scorecards seem to go hand in hand.
That 115-111 scorecard is crazy in my book. How the judge gave Wilder 5 more rounds outside of those two 10-8 rounds is very questionable IMO.
