How highly would you regard him and this win if he manages to beat Wilder and become the first person in heavyweight history to have held all four major belts in his career.
Would you consider Fury a great heavyweight all things considered, being a major underdog twice in title winning performances?
Or would you still say that his belt winning performances were just in two fights and that he needs to do it over more fights?
You can't place any fighter to high without some type of title defense wins, boxing fans are the most bizarre bringing up all time great , you need to be dedicated to the sport to get that recognition .Fury will never get that because he isn't motivated to consistently up his game and needs to be pushed to do his best.
A true champion stays consistent and likes being the champ not challenger. He'll rank over Wilder without title defenses when he wins but that's not saying much .
True, at this point Fury is a poor man's Riddick Bowe. Even less desire and dedication than Big Daddy had, funny that some folks will still say Bowe is one of ATG when he's not even close.

I would respect him more but it would be still just 2 good nights in his entire career. I would never call him a champion either until he's got the balls to defend his belt.
Not to mention he’s the only person to beat Wlad on the cards. In Germany no less
Actually, i d put fury top 10 if he beats wilder. If you can beat wla d and wilder, h2h i wouldn't put it pastyou to do anything you put your mind to.
It's not just about winning, but about how you win.
If Fury beats Wilder by stoppage or at least 8 rounds, he's the man.
I'll support him 100% as the true champion and the man to dethrone Joshua.
I would put him top 15 heavyweights of all time.
Beating wla d who hadn't been beaten for so long in germany. A d then beating wilder after such long layoff and abusing himself.
If he beats Josh he's top 5

I'd be delighted for him. I split a 15 inch meat feast pizza with Tyson Fury a while back, this was not long before he got back into boxing. Seemed like a top bloke. Reminisced about how beating Kevin Johnson was the moment he realised that he was the best in the division. Also discussed Dereck Chisora and the surprising fall from grace for highly rated heavyweight Tom Dallas. Tyson said that he thought Dallas would go all the way to world level, but never recovered from the David Price loss. Apparently Tom battered Pricey in sparring sessions, but couldn't replicate it on fight night with the pressure on.
For laced - Arslanbek Makhmudov isn’t well known, but he ass raped everyone at the World Series of boxing. Insanely hard hitter
Montreal has been producing killers lately. Makes me wonder why Teslenko is staying in Ontario which is known for MMA but not boxing.
I think my respect for him is already at a good level, to take this fight when he isn’t ready for it isn’t a joke. I don’t see any current HW doing the same thing.
Greatest of his era; and only one other heavyweight legend can move better or just like him.
Hearn better ready himself as the B-side in negotiations with Fury. The Gypsy King himself..he better see a 60/40 split in his favour vs AJ after he’s done with Wilder.
My personal opinion is that the best talents in the division are the current champions incl. Fury.
tbh, I don't really see any great talents up and coming. I did a few years ago when Joshua and Parker were considered talents, alongside hughie fury - who hasn't really materialized.
Who do you consider great up and coming talents?
Hrgovic Reminds me a lot of Vitali and I think he’ll be a top guy. Ajaba looks like a murderer. Who knows where Yoka goes after his suspension. Usyk moving up. Teslenko Is a Canadian talent that will turn heads when he’s ready. And on your end of the map you have Dubois, and you usually pump out a Good HW in time for the Olympics. More names will come to me I’m sure.
I’m more looking at all of the young HW prospects that should be stepping up in the next year. What I meant by “transition period” is that it’s the beginning of the new era. Sun is just starting to rise. Not nearly the hottest part of the day though.
And that excites me.

Is it a transition? The transition has already happened. We are in the Fury, Joshua, Wilder, Whyte, Parker, Ortiz etc era.
There's still a few fighters from the klitschko era hanging around like Povetkin, but he's probably going to retire.
Other than that, we're fully into the new era and firing on all cylinders.

It’s better than it was a decade ago, but it’s not stacked. It will be again in a couple years though. I’d consider this a transition period. HW should be really exciting again in 2-4 years though.

Why not? The division is pretty stacked right now.

No one in the HW division right now will ever be considered a great HW, especially not Fury or Wilder.
