The fact is Canelo is the appointed $ man and as such he is able to get the previous generations elites at a age where more often then not Their nowhere near their peak and Their scalp is more valuable as a name then where they where in theirs careers
Oscar got away with the same thing on the way up ( Chavez , Pernell, Camacho)
So did Mayweather. He beat a watered down Oscar and avoided a prime Pac.
Happens a lot in boxing. Not sure why you have your panties in a bunch over it.
There is no set expiration date on a fighter. If he's still fighting and has a name, that scalp will be in high demand for the young lions.
Boo fuking hoo.
That's when a lot of these guys finally reached their pinnacle. Mayweather , Mosely, Golovkin, Cotto were fighters before Canelo's time. He was very young when he fought them.
They crossed paths at a distant age, not quite perfect to fight each other. They could have easily avoided each other and it wouldn't have made a big deal, except Canelo wanted those fights with those experienced names.
He's done a nice mix.
Guys who were younger: Trout/Lara/Kirkland/Chavez Jr/Khan/Fielding.
Of course the more established and more famous big names will be older...that's why they have big names, because it takes a long time. By the time GGG and Canelo became a thing people thought about, GGG was already 34 or so.
Imagine demanding Gervonta Davis or Ryan Garcia to fight Bud Crawford?
Sometimes a fighter is too green or too old for that dream match up.

Yet, 3 of the 4 fighters you mention w/t the exception being Mosley where current world champions when they fought Canelo.
What’s your point
No boxer elite or not is at their physical best at age 35 or beyond. It’s not a coincidence that all the future HOF Canelo has fought were past that age.
Him being the $ man allows him to have the best resume but also have him fight with all the advantages whether it’s aged vets , be a weight bully, fight inactive name opponents
The only 2 names that were somewhat equal were Trout /Lara and both those fights the judging was so atrocious that it didn’t even matter how the fight played out
Last time I look Floyd came out of retirement to challenge a little Kick boxer who’s not allowed to kick so I see nothing wrong with Canelo trying to avenge his loss
It’s not about Canelo calling out retired fighters
But look at the age when he fought all his big names ( Mayweather , Mosely, Golovkin, Cotto ) all 35 plus , that’s not a coincidence

Lets see you call out Ward at 168.
I don’t think retired means what you think it means.
By the end of this year, Floyd will have literally fought more times in the last two years than the also not retired Keith Thurman.
