Ali vs Foreman is good comparison, not that level of fighters, not even close and fight won't be nearly as good but circumstances are exactly the same. Ex champion coming back after few years and taking on a KO artist who has almost exactly the same record as Foreman had. The different is that Foreman was young champion and Ali old aging champion while here Wilder is the old one.
Holmes vs. Cooney. Wilder is no Holmes, and Fury is no Cooney, but I would say that would be my most accurate comparison at HW.
I would also compare it to Johnson vs. Jeffries. Jeffries came off a long retirement, had to lose over 70 pounds to get in shape for the fight.
None of those 3 fights strike any real resemblance IMO.
There are parallels between Ali-Frazier 1, in the sense Fury is the former/lineal champion coming back, Frazier was also Ali’s third fight back of his comeback. But Ali-Frazier was a fight of far greater magnitude.
Its gonna resemble Lewis Vs. Akenwande with Fury making the fight as slow & possible with alot of clinching. Until/Then Wilder will put him out in 5 or less.
Ali and Foreman. After fury beats Wilder in post interview, he will say don't ever make me underdog until I balloon up to 500lbs, take heroin and drink 101 pints a week instead of the 100 and take a 4 year career break.
Ali vs. Foreman? Curry vs. Honeyghan? Calzaghe vs. Lacy?
Ali v Foreman is a good comparison.
Not that either fighter can be compared to them, but the fight has a few similarities. Wilder like Foreman is the huge puncher and stopping pretty much everyone put in front of him. Fury is seen as the boxer with movement but seen as past his best for the reasons we all know. Fury also defied the odds and won his titles from Wlad, when not many give him a chance, like when Ali beat Liston.
Most people are writing Fury off and think Wilder will stop him, like many thought Foreman had too much for Ali by that point.
