He won the unified Light Heavyweight Championship, and he moved to Heavyweight by beating a Prime Evander Holyfield.
He was leading in the scorecards in the fight against Foreman until he was caught by that punched.
Moorer was never the same boxer after that vicious KO.
This is pure nonsense, he didn't get destroyed by Foreman, he got caught with one punch.
You guys are acting like he got body bagged like Arturo Gatti did against Floyd.
Foreman barely landed a glove on him and then he landed one punch and put him out cold. Hardly career damaging.
The reality was that Moorer really wasn't that great.
He was a strong LHW, but that's because he was bigger than everyone he faced.
Had he fought at CW, he probably would've had a longer and more successful career.
Dude, Foreman broke the man's jaw in 2 different places, just a small fact that you might have not known until now.

if someone breaks my Jaw in two different places with one punch, I might never be the same.
And that is what happened that night.
I'll give you that but even before the KO he wasn't a "beast" that people feared, was not unified at Light heavy, and his resume leading up to that wasn't stellar.
He was a champion, a great athlete, just not a "beast".
Call him whatever you want, but he was one of the best fighters in the world at that time and just beat a future HOFer in Holyfield.

When did I say Foreman destroyed Moore? I said Moore wouldn't have gotten destroyed by Holyfield had he not got KO'd by Foreman. And that is true. Different fighters react the differently to getting KOd. You are crazy if you think Moore was the same fighter post-Foreman.
That was AFTER the Foreman KO though. Holyfield wasn't going to destroy Moore like that had the KO not happened. It would have been another competitive fight.

yep , saw in a documentary that moorer blamed a lot of it on atlas , definately not a good match , but had freakish power at light heavyweight , i think hes massively overlooked because of the foreman ko , and the holyfield win was tarnished after holyfield had a ''heart '' problem cough evan fields cough , and his best win was classed as fluke and he was kod by the oldest guy ever lol , but he was so much more than that , seemed to be a good judge of a fighter seeing him working with roach also
I don't see him the same way.
Barely edged out Holyfield for a MD, was brutalized in the rematch, only held the WBO lt heavy belt, fought a lot of guys with questionable records, and got sparked by an old guy, and shredded within seconds by Tua.
He was a good athlete that made the most of his southpaw advantage, but not an ATG or a feared fighter.
