If he could carry that insane cardio to the HW then he has a chance. but he has no power at all, only cardio and output. thing is, he'll be way heavier so his cardio will be compromise.
Stevenson didn't even knock a drained green Bellew out with 1 shot and Makabu got knocked out himself. Usyk has power...
That was a flash knock down and Makabu hits harder than Usyk.
Usyk has power for a cruiser because he's bigger than most of his opponents including Gassiev. Briedis gave him hell because of his long reach.
Come on yes it did he lost the first 4 and won the next 4.. breidis took a round after that because he’s world class and a great fighter it was usyks hardest fight.
That fight was close, and who exactly has Briedis beaten anyways? Has he beaten anybody comparable to opponents like Ortiz & Wlad whom AJ+Wilder have beaten? Briedis just looked pretty terrible in his last fight against a relative unknown.
Usyk is no doubt a great fighter, the best cruiser weight, but heavy is a different animal .
Stevenson finished Bellew 2 rounds earlier than Usyk, even Mchunu managed to drop Bellew in the 1st round.
It's Makabu. Like Stevenson, Ilunga is regarded as a fearsome puncher (most figured he was gonna smash Bellew) with 22/23 wins by KO. I don't think anyone's trying to say that Usyk is some terrifying KO artist, merely that he ain't a feather fist... trying to make your point by comparing him to two of the biggest punchers at their respective weights kinda misses the point I think.

I'm guessing you mean Makabu? Both Stevenson and Makabu are known for being heavy handed, i'm not sure how that shows that Usyk doesnt have power?

Didn't happen against Briedis, he barley edged that fight by a round or 2.

What none of you get cause y’all never been in a boxing match is that the man is a in ring genius. He literally just learns his opps every movement the first 4 rounds then takes the fight completely over and dominates and every damn fight you bozos get all excited he lost the first few rounds cause y’all were never in that ring and don’t see the genius.

No power at all ? Then what did he just do to Bellew ?

Cardio is very much important in boxing. This is why Jarrell Miller is a good favourite of mine. When you can throw and not get tired, then you have a chance at winning.
So he didn't use the genius tactic of giving away round and letting Berto hit him in the Berto fight? But why?
He didn’t have to but he did against Judah and maidana this is a chess match you come with gameplans it’s not rock em sock em lad.
But Mayweather didn't do that voluntarily so he can't claim to be on the level of genius Usyk. Giving away rounds and getting hit on the chin voluntarily = genius.
Yes he did the same genius andre berto describes it best you should see his interview on how floyd was robot like studying him.

There's been some discussion on this - consensus seems to be he'll put on a little mass, but max out no higher than around 215 - 220 to maintain stamina.
And the dude has power - at least enough power, but that ain't really what he does. Loading up drains stamina and most often opens you to counters. Dude tends to mix it up, mainly picking away with light shots then throwing a something with a little more mustard to keep his opponent guessing. Conserves stamina but forces an opponent to treat every shot as if it might be dangerous - we'll have to see how this works up at HW. Dude only starts really committing if he thinks a dude is on his last legs.
Thing is, debate on the matter is kinda pointless... dude's moving up. What else should he do? The questions will be answered when he gets there.

100% this. There’s a reason Usyk dominates every fight after the fifth round.
Usyk is more of a genius though. He allows his opponents to hit his chin, if only Mayweather thought of that. Did you have these genius tactics in the ring too?
Did you watch the first rounds of Floyd vs Judah and Floyd vs maidana? Floyd got hit way more than usyk ever did
Now he's Mayweather? Amazing.
Different styles the comparison is that’s how genius boxers think they study before they act if you ever been in a ring you would know.
