He was never that good to begin with IMO his two most credible wins cane against much smaller guys in Donaire and Darchinyan. You could see he wasn’t an elite fighter when he struggled with Sosa and Marriaga and then Loma absolutely took his soul. He’s a fun fighter though so I’d like to see him back in the ring. Him vs Gamboa, Salido, Machado or some of the other guys at 130 would be fun fights. I’d give him little chance against the top guys like Berchelt and Gervonta though.

The Lomachenko fight was weird. He never seemed to want that fight hence his turning out down the fight after "calling out" Lomachenko and then I guess he was forced into it and had the look of a guy who didn't want to be there. Rigo felt much the same but it's just a shame neither wanted to show their face again. I think both are a bit weak mentally as far as fighters go. I think Linares genuinely wanted the fight, showed that in the ring and has since shown that. Makes sense because he's dealt with adversity and setbacks before.
