PED Question

My assumption would be he would think if its okay out of competition in the UK its okay out of competition with VADA. Random question for anyone? Has BJS been tested by VADA before? Has he been tested by anyone besides the UK testing people? I read somewhere that VADA was insisted on by Andrade's camp to the point that Andrade is paying for the testing. which leads me to believe BJS has never been on it before.

Reminds me of when MMA fighters were caught roiding and they all blamed trt because they had low test from past steroid usage. I don't buy Canelo or Floyds excuses. I think the commission simply turned blind eye and pretended it didn't happen because there was too much money at stake for them. No fight happen no commission get paid simple as that. Why even test if your going to let the fighters fight juiced to the gills? I don't think Athletic Commission going to care if they catch big money fighters roiding. Fury boar excuse just as bs.

Agreed. It would be fairly simple to choose a drug...search what products contain such drugs...then actually take one of those products on top of your extra dose. That way in essence you are not lying by saying you took that product. Facts by omission. Come on man, no-one would ever do that. From the way I heard it mentioned this is something that the UK testing people know about with BJS so its not as sinister as you could make it sound. If this is something he knows about & the UK people have discussed with him then its extremely likely he knew it could be the reason he popped as soon as he heard the news. No I don't find it strange. If anyone tested positive who wasn't using PEDs I think the first thing you'd do is try to figure out if anything you take has something on the banned substance list. The banned substance list is broader & more random then most people think, this allergy medicine I take sometimes has an ingredient thats on the banned substance list & all those f#cking pills do to me is make me tired/sleepy often if I take 2 (as suggested) instead of one (which I tend to do) so I'd have never thought it'd be something on that list, although fair play I'm not a pro athlete who should be mindful of everything I'm taking either so there's that angle too. That said its also the first thing one would do if they WERE using PEDs, but that doesn't mean it should be considered strange outright since I think it'd be normal & not strange even if a person is innocent. fair. Given the fact that there's no year round testing and months between fights, no fighter should be getting caught. They have months to juice when they are not in camp. And every top fighter knows they are getting tested pre fight. They only get caught when there plan to beat the testers malfunctions.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but obviously there is year round testing available and many fighters are signed up for it. This thing with Saunders only supports my view that if you are not signed up for VADA's CBP, you might be cheating. VADA catches cheats, I do not know of another program that is even nearly as successful.

Some things are banned that shouldn't be banned. I don't believe there is anything in Saunders's over the counter nasal spray that would give him an unfair advantage in speed, strength, punching power or stamina. He had a head cold so he used some nasal spray for it. End of story. He didn't cheat or attempt to cheat and should receive no punishment and should be allowed to fight. Canelo knew the risk of eating Mexican meat and should have been more careful if he made an honest mistake. His punishment was justified because nobody can know if he just made an honest mistake or cheated on purpose. But over the counter nasal spray???? Come on FFS.

PED is a blanket statement. Yeah someone could bulk up with anabolic steroids in the off season, but illegal fat burners would be taken during camp, and illegal diuretics would be taken prior to the weigh in.

That’s because they know exactly what they have all ingested, for example BJS... Drug cheats like Lamont Peterson or Mosley are on a different level in terms of their reasons though.

Thru usually get a heads-up in advance of the media. I've seen cases where they knew weeks in advance.
