Povetkin stopped him in the amatuers and he will stop him again
Povetkin pro world champ and olympic champion
Ortiz - zilch
There is your answer right there
It's a 50-50 fight but Povetkin beat Ortiz as an amateur, and if I remember he knocked him down in the first round within the first minute, and then stopped in the last round due to the point system they had back then. Ortiz was around 20 to 30 lbs lighter and more mobile, but not as skillful as he is today. Povetkin beat Ortiz pretty easily as an amateur but they've both improved since then and a pro fight could really go either way.
you literally just made all of this up
just searched it up and found NO evidence of such.
i think you're lying
only thang i found was wikipedia saying that.
no other information.
WHERES YOUR PROOF?
It's one of Ortiz's official losses on his 343-19 amateur record (although Ortiz was interviewed once and he said his record was 343-26). Either way, he did lose to Povetkin but it was only an amateur fight and he has improved since then. It's difficult to find detailed reports about specific amateur contests which happened decades ago as many weren't recorded or properly documented in print.

If Povetkin doesn't retire after the pay day he has just had, I only see him only being interested in big fights. Obviously, Hearn has respect for him and his management team so I wouldn't be suprised to see him on the April undercard at Wembley against the likes of Ortiz.
Ortiz, no doubt. He still looks like a top guy. A lot of people thought he would beat Wilder
Even though AJ looked strictly *meh* for several fights in a row, nobody picked Povetkin because the guy is done at the top.
Here's the truth test; if Wilder fought Ortiz again people would mostly consider it a good fight. If he fought Povetkin now, it would be a joke.
Ortiz by KO. Maybe Povetkin was doing well before he got KO'd because AJ isn't as good as many believe. I had AJ as #10 in my p4p list going into this fight.

You made this thread because of the delusional individuals claiming Povetkin is better then Ortiz.
Let me tell you the truth - Wilder, Fury, and Ortiz ALL beat Joshua.
Povetkin stole at least 4 of those rounds against Joshua on Saturday.
