Like most I thought GGG won but at the end of the day he lost his 160 title.
That being said, I think his star status went up even more.
He fought a great fight and I saw a great fighter last night.
So wassnext?
I think he should leave 160. GGG doesn't kill himself to make 160 but he looks a bit drained for the weigh in, too much for a soon 37 years old guy.
Fighters fighting old: Nard, Pac, JMM, Floyd, Toney, Duran moved up and didn't have to hurt their old body to make weight.
You don't recover from weight draining being +35 years old.
He could still fight Jacobs or Mall at 165 but I think getting 168 belt holders would be better for his legacy.
He should fight De Gale, Rami or Ucaz at 168, then a final vs Benav or move up to 175 to get a scarp at Jack, would be a helluva fight.
What worries GGG at this point IMO is making weight and speed, I think he would do fine at 168/175 against bigger/slower guys, his power and chin will allow him to trade with those big fellas, his experience and underrated boxing IQ will give him the nod.
Poll with options coming
I think that GGG should retire. If he chooses to keep fighting, then he should find a better promoter. It might also be a good idea to look for a new trainer.
Hopefully retirement. Don't want to keep watching a guy who is going to be cautious about every little thing.
He'll probably fight Murata for one more fight though.
If GGG decides to return to Kazakhstan hopefully he can advice the Youth.
Kazakhstan has a great program that keeps improving.
Thing that sickens me is Hopkins keeping his middleweight streak the bitter fuk.
It's all good, Hopkins racist ass got knocked out of the ring by the thing he said he would never lose to, a white boy.
At least GGG can go out on a controversial decision against a fighter in his prime (while he himself clearly aged).
Retire!
He just lost to the champ, he was the champ and he won't beat the champ in a rematch! He came from a solid amateur career to being the undisputed champ now he isn't anymore there's nothing left to prove!
a very good fighter who was ducked for many years by the top tier men.
No need to continue at 37 years old.
Probably a top twenty five middleweight in his prime 3 or 4 years ago. Time to kick back and spend a few dollars he richly earned.

No he got robbed, he saw a top performance last night.

I think he should retire. That fight was a great payday and would've been tough emotionally as well as physically. I don't want to seem him pulling a Kovalev.
i thought DeGale vacated his belt? As far as i know, DeGale hasn't got a lot of interest in boxing anymore
He could move up, but it doesn't seem that there's any real payday at 168.
If he's only fighting for the money then he should rematch Nelo.
People will remember them because they are lineal. The same reason people remember the likes of Vito Anteufermo and Alan Minter.
Same thing with Danny Lopez. Golovkin was a good champ who reigned in a meh era.
"golovkin was a good champ who reigned in a meh era"
basically...yeah
Let's say he moves up and beat 2 168 belt holders ala De Gale and Ucaz, his legacy will be sealed.

60 years from now people wont remember sergio or pavlik

Looking at his performance last night, how this should be better without him?
This guy is classic warrior with skills.
Don't ask me, ask the people who was waiting for it. Let's just see, maybe it will get better without Golovkin, who knows
wouldn't surprise me if he retires if he doesn't get a rematch.
He's coming up 37 so he's only getting worse, been on the end of two robberies in his biggest fights and there isn't enough big money fights out there, except the one he keeps being robbed in.
Let's say he moves up and beat 2 168 belt holders ala De Gale and Ucaz, his legacy will be sealed.
He should retire to be honest. I had him winning, but unless he can get it up like he did last night, then he should call it quits.
Either take on Billy Joe or the loser of Jacobs-(Insert Russian Name here), if he decides to fight on.
I think he did enough to ensure his legacy and put him up there with Kelly Pavlik and Sergio Martinez
60 years from now people wont remember sergio or pavlik
Nothing. It might be his last fight. On the other hand, a lot of people were waiting for his loss, so let's see if boxing will be better without him
