No matter if you think he did drugs or not, this was a deserved decision.
Quality work came from him most of the fight and GGG turned it on too late.
They will rematch in May and then GGG will retire.
I agree. Canelo edged Golovkin in the earlier rounds. By the time Golovkin picked up steam it was too late. No one mentions the fact that Sanchez himself told Canelo he was losing the fight. Canelo really redeemed himself in this fight. Both fighters deserve a lot of respect for putting on a great fight for the fans.
Golovkin won 2 of the first 3 rounds. Canelo showed great will though. I give him lots of credit. I don't feel like that was clear win by any means. But I did lose my stream in round 10 and parts of round 11 so maybe I missed some good stuff from Canelo.
I also didn't feel like it was a clear victory per se. Just that I thought he did the way better work up until round 8-9. Surprisingly timid GGG imo.
The amount of people saying stuff like "GGG got robbed" etc is just BS. At best it was a razor close fight with two high high level operators showing some incredible skills-
No one really lost, but imo Canelo deserved the win.
Canelo can still become a great fighter if he would look to solely touch his opponents to the body, he needs to stop loading up so much because thats whats running his stamina. When you look at Ward, B-Hop, Mayweather they only use about, I'd guess maybe 30-40% of their power when they touch guys in the mid section and they do it well in the clinch. Canelo is obviously missing a lot of their intangibles but if he can just add that or have that understanding he can go even farther in this sport.
Close fight that could have gone either way. Canelo deserves this win though, he did something I didn't hink he could do, he walked GGG down for most of the fight.
Canelo had much better stamina than we've seen in the past. He went to the body extremely well and that won him the fight,
Canelo has GGG figured out, if a 3rd fight happens, Canelo wins going away.
mothefker score sh it like it was the amateur when it suits them. GGG threw a bunch of jabs while Canelo landed the more effective punches early on. GGG just turn it on a little too late. this isn't the amateurs. you know its something when your own trainer tells you that you're losing.
its funny that a lot of these GGG fans would whine/cry when Mayweather would jab someone to death but love it when he does it? smh
it was a close fight at the end of the day man
but the right man won in my eyes
I had ggg again this fight. But it was close nonetheless. What gets me is people saying he wasnt the aggressor for much of the fight and thats what cost him. But he was the aggressor in the first fight and still didnt get the nod....so Idk man
I had it 115-113 GGG, but it was close enough, so I have no issues with the scorecards.
Canelo improved a lot, even after the first fight and I think Gennady looked a bit worse than the last fight. I wouldn't like the 3rd fight. The buildup was too much for this one. I think everybody should move on. Gennady should retire and Canelo should take on Jacobs of BJS.
I had Canelo winning 7-5. Had him up pretty big at one point with GGG rallying. Lederman's scorecards continue to baffle me. Giving rounds to Canelo that were clear GGG rounds and giving rounds to GGG that were Canelo rounds.
Even with Canelo's "Golden Boy edge" I was kind of expecting for GGG to get the decision. BUT I shouldn't be surprised. It'll be hard to beat Canelo by decision.
Absolutely no controversy here. I felt Canelo won 7-5. I could have easily seen a draw or 7-5 GGG. That is simply not a robbery.
This was a great fight. Both guys took big shots, fought through fatigue, and gave it there all in the 12th and final round.
No matter if you think he did drugs or not, this was a deserved decision.

Canelo beat G from pillar to post for 12 more rounds.
Canelo also broke his spirit. He ran off toward the dressing room in a huff.
Lampley admits that he was trying to rig it for Gennady.
I'll have to watch again but I must say the result took me by surprise. Golovkin really dominated the 2nd half of the fight which was not the case in the last fight.
Both warriors. I feel a little bad for Golovkin. Golden Boy again clearly having influence over the result.
