AJ and Povetkin has been signed for weeks and has a date and nobody really cares here in the US. Their fight is a month away and there's nothing. Fury/Wilder hasn't been confirmed and that fight has more interest than the AJ fight next month over here. Whyte/Parker was good for the UK but nobody really cared in the States as no network picked it up. Fury's fight is getting more attention then that fight over here and people going to tune in just for the post fight face off.
American fans care more about hearing about an American boxer than an English one. Shocker.
You could pretty much say the same about AJ fights here in the US. Even Whyte/Parker didn't garner enough interest in the US to be picked up by a network. AJ/Povetkin fight is a month away and nobody in the really cares about it, people are more interested in a fight that hasn't been signed yet in Fury/Wilder.
Not getting how this is relevant to the topic at all or why Joshua has to come into absolutely everything.

Who cares about America? The heavyweight division is British and don't you forget it.
Front page on BBC Sport is a thing now? BBC Sport just shows the latest news... things don't stick around there.

People getting so hyperbolic about this it's ridiculous. There's no question that additional promotion is a good thing, but this is just some fake WWE style rant. It's nothing. Frampton's weigh in is there too, is that a big thing as well?
It's certainly not some huge event that everybody in the UK is covering it. It's an event that hit sports pages because they are there to report on sport.

You need people to see it first. Nobody watches weigh-ins on BT sport. This entire card is getting zero publicity in Britain.

It's front page on BBC Sport website and Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury are both trending near the top in the UK right now so it definitely is exposure.

me too. I love to think there is an element of dislike between fighters, after all they are about to engage in battle. Benn/ Eubank was brilliant because of that. who cares if it is a bit staged, it gets people talking and that has to be good for the fight and the sport.
Exactly!!! I saw the video of Wilder yelling bombsquad and I swear I was pumped, I was like finally!!! He has arrived, seriously HW boxing needs this sort of hype, no offence to Joshua but I prefer hype when it comes to boxing. I know everyone is different and that’s his thing, but even though this looked stage it has reach BBC!!! Which is exactly what Wilder needs IMHO.
its on the front page of ESPN AND NEW YORK TIMES!!! oh wait no its not. i thought making waves in the uk didnt matter. in fact i heard this over and over when people would cite joshuas popularity. fastest flip flop ever?
Thats how you promote a fight and get exposer....Wilders brand will erupt after this weekend
Dumb AJ fans - "Why won't Wilder sign the $15 million flat fee for the Joshua fight in April!"
this is all very WWE. at least its fun and interesting. looking forward to the post fight square up in the ring, Fury to drop a DDT in as Wilder goes for the spear?
you created a page called bum squad?????? oh my
Definitely good exposure and will only be better tomorrow after he gets in the ring with Fury and causes some commotion. I think we can pretty much set the PPV buys for this fight in the UK at 400-500k. But the real question is will they could carry this over stateside. I mean since the fight will be in Vegas, and most of the revenue will be generated of the US buys, they need to promote the crap out of this fight for the next three months. More they get on camera the better.
Damn, just realized my cable bill is going to be pretty insane from September to December with Canelo/GGG, McGregor/Khabib, Wilder/Fury and Spence/Garcia.
Oh well..................

Mirror covered it too.

yep..............

but the fights going to be in the states where wilder is a massive star. no offense but the uk some call it great britain and they used to call it england they should call it england more its all the same doesn't matter
Definitely more fun.... I prefer hype in boxing to dull gentleman act. Trashtalking as long as it isn’t too deep.
