I don't really care who wins this fight, but one thing has bothered me most about this is.
Team Golovkin talks about Canelo is running, and how he's avoiding action.
For one,
Canelo has great upper body movement, but he has the footwork or an alaskan bull worm, dude isn't Roy Jones or lightweight Floyd jumping in and out and changing rhythm at the drop of a hat.
This honestly leads me to believe that Abel Sanchez is actually overrated as a trainer. Honestly, Golovkin should just take punishment and Jab Canelo to the body, and tie him up. Hit Canelo with straights, get off first, tie him up, and get him tired. Being flat footed and defensive is a recipe for disaster when dealing with a constant offensive onslaught, unless you pack 1 punch knock out power.
Canelo didn't run, he fought as smartly as he could given the circumstances presented to him. He hit Golovkin with several homerun shots but didn't even reach the warning track with them. He got tired and got out of harm's way. Trying to get Canelo to fight stupid, to stand and trade with Golovkin, is exactly what Abel should be doing. I don't think it will work but if hurt pride starts phking with Canelo's mind, it might.
Apologies, I didn't really express that I was agreeing with you that is just a ploy, mind games, as you said.
But surely Sanchez doesn't really think this is gonna work and Alvarez is just going to stand on front of GGG and trade shot for shot?!
Leonard-duran is a good example of when that worked though!
Thanks. no worries bro :boxing:
I like Canelo in this one but there is no way in hell I see him stopping GGG. Dude has an iron chin and too good stamina for that.
At the end of the day, GGG is only human, and even though he is saying he didn't feel Canelo's punch as heavy, i believe he was hurt to the body in the first fight.
Any man can be hurt, and any man can be stopped, the main thing for me is that there are legitimate question marks around Canelo at the minute.
Show me where i said he did think this lol.
It's mind games son but also one of the most inteligent fighters who ever lived was mind gamed in to fighting mexican style instead of speed and movement....yes leonard vs duran 1 so we don't know For sure do we....canelo has drug shame over him as well and that can also f@ck with his pride.

They were so use to bullying less talented fighters! When you stand up to a bully they suddenly stop looking intimidating. The same reason they duck Ward and will duck Mall Charlo!
Its just a ply to goad canelo into standing flatfooted and team golovkin mentioning mexican style is just canelo wound up so he stands and trades with golovkin.
Im a big fan of triple ggg and i belive he won the 1st fight and will win the rematch but its done to golovkin to cut the ring down and win his fight and not rely on another fighter fighting your fight....boxing is boxing and to win a fight you have to impose your style on the other guy.....if you don't you lose its that simple.
Agreed. I'm tired hearing about Canelo not bringing the fight, if he doesn't, it's up to Golovkin to do something about it.
Obviously they want Canelo to trade more for the rematch. I agree GGG should go more to the body and improve his overall punch selection, but GGG felt Canelo's punch and he was hesitant.
If Canelo shows up just as strong and fast for the rematch, I think he has a legitimate chance to stop GGG.

. . . .and do sanchez/Team GGG really think Alvarez is going to fight to suit them?!
Come on guys . . . ! Show me where i said he did think this lol.

You're right, Sanchez should just step aside and let Hall of Fame trainer WhatDisButtonDo man the corner and lead GGG to victory.
Someone can still be great yet overrated, me stating that doesn't mean I think he's bad, below average or even average, he's above that clearly. Like in the NFL I think Aaron Rodgers is overrated and he's great as all get out.
GGG and Sanchez said Canelo switched his style when he fought GGG and didn't want to engage.
Who in their right mind would trade with GGG? He has the better chin, great stamina to keep the punches coming and on top of that, way more power than some SMWs.
Instead of them crying about the switch, why don't they switch too or are they saying they can only fight one way like a bull?
So many fighters like Monroe, Rosado... Did everything they could to get away from GGG but he tracked them down and almost killed them. What's the difference with Canelo?
...and Canelo wasn't running.
Great post nothing really to add, you sums it all up.

Sanchez has and had a lot if good fighters but I see where you are coming from. If you watch tape if Golovkin as an amature he moved his head and used much more movement on the way in. Like you said where is Golovkin's inside game. He should get inside bang the body and rough Canelo up. With Canelo's stamina problems this would wear him down really fast. I have concerns about Sanchez and his boxing philosophy. It should be about the fighter not Sanchez..

you are advocating that ggg cheat? why?
Some people have been upset about Canelo's game plan and defend his"boxing" but how I see it is if Canelo says he will knock out GGG and then goes into retreat mode, Canelo will get rightfully boo'ed. He doesnt have to trade with GGG but he has to back up what he said, period! However he fights, if he doesnt go for the knockout like he said he would do, no one can defend him. But if he wins backing up this time, he wont care about the boos, he will see it as a W which is his bottom line, even if fans and detractors lose some respect for him.

Solid post .
Canelo was cow-meated to the max in that first fight. There is no way he will have the endurance and stamina to keep moving and not get tired out if he is completely clean in the rematch.
