The HBO's Championship Boxing series sucks major balls. I am surprised they haven't gone out of business by now because the PBC holds all the cards and leverage and they still refuse to do business with Al Haymon who has the deepest talent roster pool of any advisor/manager in the world and in the entire sport of boxing.
If you could subscribe to only one service to quench your #boxing thirst each month which would it be?— Dan Rafael (@danrafaelespn) July 17, 2018
If I could only subscribe to one each month then it'd depend on the fights that month wouldn't it? Think I'd probably change my subscription each month.
Or it'd have to be about money right? Is this some sort of math problem? Espn+ is the cheapest so guess it'd be that one! DAZN twice as much with lesser fighters. SHO & HBO require cable plus premium subscriptions, so if I can afford either, think I can certainly afford the apps too if I wanted them.
What about the size of the screen? Actually the determining factor to me, along with all the other programming.
Maybe he's asking which has the better boxing so far this year? Why not just say that? Showtime.
Where did you come up with those list of fights? I’ve not seen announcements for most of them. Whyte Parker for example - when was that announced on showtime ?
The people are Spamming the Polls are mostly from the UK I'm sure in which they don't have to pay for DAZN :lol1:
If you from the UK please STFU about DAZN and how great it is and how it is "ONLY 9.99" and "You Should Buy It". You guys are not the ones that have to pay for it in the UK :lol1:
But Not Interested in NEITHER I have my ways of seeing EVERYTHING for a great Price and without having to switch applications to watch different content :dunno:
Showtime is already in the lead, but looking at the upcoming schedule Showtime still might take when the year is over.

ESPN mas most of the top fighters, while Showtime has most of the top fights. Everyone else is just in last place.
I'm sure there are lots of people who don't like fat Dan and don't follow him on twitter, so interesting to see the poll results here.

Lmfao ESPN is in dead last even showtime and hbo are beating them lmfao
You only get the free trial once. The idea is that you won't cancel because they will have regular stuff you will want to watch
People think these are completely new but they have broken into other countries from scratch with exact same strategy. The only difference is the USA launch is based on combat only sport at the moment , although the CEO did indicate other sports were coming shortly but didn't talk about what.
That makes more sense. Even so, subscribing/unsubscribing with the tide of fights seems a bit tedious.
That doesn't sound like a good business model for DAZN, letting people watch content for free during a trial, only to cancel before they're charged. Especially if people do that on a regular basis.

Showtime and ESPN have been pulling ahead of the pack. Time will tell if ESPN continues to schedule compelling match ups. Showtime has been 50/50 between good fights and mismatches. HBO seems to have given up on boxing, shot themselves in the foot when they turned their back on Top Rank.
I think they're confident that their content will keep people paying the 9.99 a month. its only the same thing Arum told ESPN+ subs to do for the Crawford fight..
they arent going to have dark-time on that app where its offline, they'll have continuous content. who knows... only you can choose..but considering how intent they are on conquering the market they seem to want to give value for money anyway.
we'll just have to wait and see for you guys in the states, it doesnt bother me, im a Sky customer in the UK.
If the apps are able to show top fights, I would be interested. If I have to juggle between networks and apps, maybe not so much. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Will the apps be able to wrest the top fighters from the networks, or will there be a split, is the question.

You can subscribe and cancel any time with DAZN.. you arent locked in to a minimum term.. if they have supplementary content that you are interested in then you could always just stay subscribed, but you wont get penalised for having your free trial.. not choosing to continue into the next month but then going back 4 or 5 months later for a month if its a good fight month.
better than shelling out x or Y per month and being locked into a cable contract

Vargas v TBA shortly - confirmed HL
Beterbiev vs johnson for IBF belt. - confirmed
Katie taylor vs serrano IBF and WBA belts - confirmed
jarrell miller vs TBA ( probs spilzka) - probable
Andrade vs Saunders WBO MW. - too many dependants to know whether probable, im guessing not.
Hooker vs TBA - probably not
just his interview with fighthype from the DAZN launch.
So what am I supposed to do, subscribe and unsubscribe according to the fight schedule?

In the first month youd get the WBSS bouts that fall in that month and like 5 matchroom / dazn cards plus bellator.
Pretty sure Hearn said on his one of his october cards he wants andrade vs saunders... vargas.. roman.. hooker and miller fighting..not a bad card for free lol.
For a free trial i think thats pretty good.. during which you could see the upcoming schedule for the next month and see if its worth your investment of $9.99

miller vs who?
hooker vs who?
I got no interest in that Dazn. The only fighter I have any interest in at all is Andrade, and that still isn't much these days.
Showtime or ESPN for me.
pretty much
