i have no problem with CW...my only thing how are the belts going to come into play? Does Usyk vacate them before his fight with Bellew? Does he or Bellew vacate them after either man wins? is Usyk vs Bellew going to be an actual WBSS fight?
good question...I read somewhere that Bellew wanted to fight for the belts. HW looks to be tied up in the AJ/Wilder/Fury business, so the prudent move might be for these smaller guys to get the CW money while its hot

If I'm not mistaken, last series the winner of fight 1 took on the winner of 3. The winner of 2 took of the winner of 4.
If so, and if it's the same set up for this series, there will be a semi final of Burnett Vs Tete should they both win their first round fight.
2 of the 140 fights are already made. So with Prograis being the number 1 seed he get to pick first...Martin or Flanagan. Taylor fights whoever is left from those two.
This is what I'm curious about, was the stupidest part of season 1, see if they do it again or not
I imagine they have to look at divisions with the least fighters tied down to networks, immediately rule out PBC, Top Rank, GBP fighters. Then pick the best divisions they can.
There are only a few fighters with exclusive network deals and that's Canelo, GGG and Jacobs and maybe Kov.
I guess the Top Rank stable with ESPN but that's just TR cards. I don't think the fighters have exclusive deals.
Same with the PBC guys. Only Jacobs has that HBO deal. The others can fight anywhere.
Didn't they just do CW. Why again?

I forgot that 2 of the fights had been made at 140, Flanagan and Martin look like the toughest unseeded fights IMO, Martin is huge for the weight and Flanagan has a bag of experience. I think Prograis will pick Flanagan since he's coming off a loss.....
Both good fights regardless either way.

My ideal brackets would be:
Taylor vs Flanagan
Relikh vs Troyanovsky
Baranchyk vs Yigit
Prograis vs Martin
Tete vs Payano
Burnett vs Aloyan
Rodriguez vs Moloney
Inoue vs Donaire
I was listening to a podcast last night (fight Disciples). They were talking about the 3rd weight class. They were only discussing rumours, but one host was saying that he had heard it will be CW again and it will be announced ringside after the CW final on Saturday.
The other guy said he'd heard it was LHW and the winner of the SMW tournament would be entering as number 1 seed.
That second rumour sounds a bit iffy to me. Well, the bit about the SMW champion returning anyway.

🏆 The World Boxing Super Series Season 2 draft gala will take place next Friday, July 20th, in Moscow (7pm UK time). ❌🏆 WBO super-lightweight champion Maurice Hooker has turned down the WBSS tournament and will instead take on his mandatory Alex Saucedo next, with the winner then unifying against WBC champ, Jose Ramirez. — Michael Benson (@MichaelBensonn) July 12, 2018
Inoue now confirmed, leaving 1 spot left in the 118 tournament, probably going to Aloyan. I also believe that Tete/Payano will be set as the first round matchup, leaving Inoue and Burnett to pick between Aloyan and Donaire
