Believe me, he's not serious.
He calls out big names and ends up fighting guys nobody has heard of.
He called out Cotto, Crawford, Lomachenko...
Let's see what excuse he'll come up with this time.
Last time he's blaming DLH and Arum.
This time he and Spence are in the same PBC/SHO umbrella.
Spence only weighed 156 on fight night against Ocampo so he is a natural welterweight and even Crawford weighs more than that on fight night. Jr middleweights like Jermell, Lara, Hurd and Trout all weigh about 168 pounds on fight night. It isn't that Spence is such a big welterweight that makes him so good. It's his skill, stamina, punching power and great body punching that make him the best welterweight.
Spence is a dedicated athlete and been fighting JMW since the Ams. I believe he's a natural JMW based on his physical attributes. I don't think it matters what he weighs in on fight night. Some guys stay in better shape than others. Look at Floyd, he would put on very little weight on fight night and that's a direct result from being in shape all the time. Not everybody has an off season and cuts mad weight before a fight.
I don't think it's his size that makes him good. I agree that his skill, power, body punching, and conditioning are why he's so good. But I do believe he's dipping his toes into 147 and will continue to do it for as long as he's able. I'm not calling him a weight bully, but he could easily slide right into JMW with little effort. MW would be more of a challenge for him, but I don't think he would be in over his head either. He wouldn't be a big MW, but he could do serious work at that weight.
That's but pernell and mayweather came up from that weight and were awesome @147...........they were special and MAYBE mikey is also..........
Sweet Pea and Floyd are cut from different cloths than Garcia. Garcia is good, but let's not get crazy here. He's not as dynamic as those guys and he's not the type of fighter that shifts gears like Floyd or Sweet Pea could. You're talking two of the best fighters of all time.
Mikey relies on his power and at 147 I think he's dead meat even for a Shawn Porter type.
Spence is over rated, feasted on bums then knocked out extermely non proven damaged brook, and then back to feasting on a bunch of nobodies.
Mikey beats everyone Spence has beaten and does it with a high KO Ratio! #FACTS!
Brook is a bum????
Until he broke Brook's face and almost ended up in a coma until his corner wisely stopped the fight. :boxing:
GGG admitted he didn't take training seriously for this fight because he himself didn't even think it was a fair fight.
I don't think it had to do with GGG not taking training seriously for the fight. For one I don't buy that at all. This man is a consummate professional and works hard in every training camp. Kell Brook is just really good himself. Obviously he had no business fighting at MW, but up until the size/power became a factor, he was competing very well. Skills wise he could hang with GGG, Spence and other top level fighters. GGG tried to load up way too much early on which got him in trouble. He did the same in stretches vs Canelo/Jacobs. This is one adjustment he needs to make for September. Just use the jab and take what is there and eventually Canelo will be broken down.
Jermall Charlo would be an extremely difficult fight for GGG though. Charlo is very hittable, but in the line of fire he reacts very quick and is a sharp counter puncher in the pocket. He is the one guy that could end up hurting GGG in that division.

Lol this is a prime big WW were talking about who’s walking everybody down, I like Mikey but he’s too small even at 140, his power wasn’t even displayed there against gunshy Broner.
Though Mikey has great Fundamentals, timing, power at his weight. And I’d probably root for him against whoever but don’t want for him to fight Spence. He didn’t strike me as someone who can successfully jump to bigger weight class because he’s lacking some major requirements. And those are footspeed and extreme athletism.
But yup, he’s got the balls.
Unless he suddenly fights like prime Floyd or Prime Rigo then he has a chance.
Speaking of Brook/GGG, good thing Brook's corner stopped the fight before Brook really started to take punishment....But man did he light GGG up in some of those exchanges. GGG was legit marked up and hit cleaner than he had been in any fight in his career.

Mikey struggled a bit with the size and physicality of Lipinets last fight and Spence is on another level than him so he would have his hands full. However, Spence isn't a Chavez or Maidana type of pressure fighter but one that likes to take his time so Mikey probably feels he could hang with him and counter him all fight. But he will be in for a rude awakening. Spence will just break him down and stop him in the mid rounds, if not earlier.
He needs to take care of Lomachenko before he talks about fighting Spence or any other WW.
I agsee. Mikey would hang in early

I think most guys in the thread is way off......it would be very competetive early -mid rounds with mikey countering and movement....but spence would be slipping in body shots here and there....and it would add up later........it would be similar to the brook fight.....

garcia too small for welterweight. he looked kinda fat at 140 lbs vs broner and lipinets. i think 135 is his best weight with the option to move to 140 again later
****s funny :lol1:
