Bud is a good fighter but I don't know how truly good because his resume is terribly underwhelming. I was expecting great things from him after the Gamboa shellacking but his opponents have just been lackluster in my eyes.
I get it, he moved up to 147 and got an easy belt from Horn, and now maybe Bud can start getting better fights, but, I don't want to see him live the next few years fighting all of the retreads in the div. like Berto and whoever the hell else.
I think Crawford is the real deal and a great fighter but his competition has not been very good. I mean the best fighter he's beaten is Postol? That's not saying much, I can't wait to see Bud against some better opponents.
Not Bud's fault that 140 is weak (seems a lot of the "junior/super" weight classes are weak.) but he still cleaned it out and dominated. Now he's looking to do the same at 147. Again, not his fault that Horn was a weak champ, Spence fights next week, Thurman isn't going to fight him on short notice, and Garcia and Porter are fighting each other for the WBC. So what belt was Bud going to fight for when he moved up?
And GGG won his off of ???
Larry why are you being stupid? Ggg won his vacant belts because no one wants to fight him, Floyd didn’t want it, sexy Sergio didn’t want it, bjs doesn’t, canelo took over two years to fight him only when he was cornered, Jacobs’s said he was too good then took the fight a year later. I’m not saying ggg is this beast but he is the classic high risk low reward so nobody wants it.
You praise the lineal 135 title bud holds but it’s super weak weaker than 160 but you and others willl praise bud and sh it on ggg. Fact is you are high in bud only because he is black.
As an example, I don't think he looked great against Dulorme but he was able to get the KO. Obviously that was a few years ago now but it was an underwhelming performance from him.
If you watch it again notice Crawford fought the whole fight orthodox. Dulorme should be embarrassed he wasn't even good enough to force Crawford to switch to his better stance and still got stopped.
Lomas doing it vs much better opposition. Rigo was top 5 P4P now all of sudden hes a shot old grandpa
Was it much better? Rigo jumped up weight and hadn't fought more than three rds in like 3 yrs or something. By the way gamboa and diaz we're gold medalist I believe

Yeah I've seen some of his other fights but against Horn he was very sharp. I know the opponent has s lot to do with it but his reflexes were amazing. I really enjoyed that fight.
The thing I found most impressive was how quickly he found openings and landed punches. Often he would land a combo and when it looked like he was finished he would see a crack and land another punch. Very impressive.

Oh, I agree that it was good business sense. I'm just saying that generally speaking, I am not impressed with who he has beaten. I know he has beaten everyone put in front of him. There are times though when I haven't been impressed with him during fights and then he'll turn it on and knock the guy out. I'll put it another way, which, most will probably disagree with. I don't think he's great fighting going backwards. I prefer it when he is commanding his offense and he looks better that way to me. When he is wheeling out defensively, I see flaws when he's in that mode. I just don't think he is great at fighting going backwards.

Don't worry Crawford is the real thing. Fighting Horn was smart. He got paid well and raised his profile at the same time.

Totally agree, the only negative would be him being promoted by Top rank. Getting fights with other fighters from a different promoter etc I hope that wouldn’t be the case doe.
I'm not sure who Arum has at 147 anymore but I could see a fight against jessie Vargas happening next. I don't think anyone else is in a hurry to fight him.
Wow a guy cleans out a division
Moves up and becomes undisputed in another beating all the champions there
Moves up again and captures a title In his first fight there and y'all complaining?
This thread is glaringly different then lomas last win.......

He cleaned out 135, cleaned out (and won all titles) at 140 and just debuted at 147 with a title win (the other guys are PBC league) and has done this in such a dominant manner. I get it his “resume” or the names of the opponent aren’t A grade but they accomplishments and accolades are and it’s clear he’s special. He’s beating these guys way worse than anyone else and many are unbeaten.
I can’t wait until he fights Spence and then see what the excuse is. Boxing fans tend to want to hate and discredit too much. If the guy is a likeable and humble dude and he’s good just enjoy him. Believe me it’s better than being a hater.
I completely agree with the bolded. :boxing:

Agreed. And Gamboa was badly faded by that time too. Crawford deserves high praise but it's time to fight other elite fighters to prove his worth. No more Molina's and Horns.

TBud won a title off JEFF HORN. let that sink in. Luckily for tbud maidana is retired because he would f*ck his sh*t up. Midget gamboa had bud on queer street for a min :fu2::burnout:
even though I had pacquiao the winner, it was still a rather close fight on a round by round Basis.
Horn put on a better Performance against pacquiao than Bradley and Vargas.
It is not a great win, but winning against Horn is probably better than a win against Broner/Vargas. People are hard on Horn, because he Looks and sounds like a joke lol.
why no pacquiao in that list??
because pacquiao "only" Held the ring title belt at 140 and some do, but some do not count it as an official title, although it is most of the time the top guy in the Division.
