You might be right. I don't hate him but I sure don't like him. He is a disrespectful conceited bragger who has not done much to brag about. He is a good fighter for his age but not the great fighter he claims to be. I think this will be clear when he starts fighting better opponents. He has yet to fight a boxer rated in the top 50. He reminds me of Broner with all his self praises and talk of his greatness. I doubt he will be as successful as Broner has been. This is pretty much how I feel too. No hate, just don't like him

I think he is already exploiting that “Hate”, he is a teenager that is bringing in good money. Am sure he would be able to buy his own house in one or two more fights, girl like him and he plays on that irritation from the men. I actually like him and I see exactly what he is doing, so I just had to laugh at the whole thing because I know he is just playing a role.

Velez was top 30 ranked by Boxrec before Ryan Garcia white washed him. And even after the loss Velez is still in the top 50, currently ranked #46 in the world. But other then that I agree yes he's a shyt talker a bragger, grew up a fan of Floyd so he was a huge influence on him and it will rub some the wrong way. But at just 19 it's undeniable he's got skills and that what he is doing is working. He's already light years ahead of other older prospects in terms of drawing crowds and whether you are female lusting after him or a male hating on him it's a win for him because you are talking about him. If he's hated on now I have news for you just imagine when he finally wins a world title. Lebron been hated on since he was in high school when he was calling himself "King" James and the "Chose One" and this is before he did anything. If a fan pays money or tunes in to root for you to lose you get paid the exact same amount if they came rooting for you to win.

If there is hate, there is reason for it. People hates Mayweather and everybody calls it racism... But nobody remembers how Floyd used to curse his father, talk about his money like an idiot all the time, overlook poor people, how he makes other people feel like they are nothing, disrespectful talks... He is very cute and has a great personality. He's the full package. and he boxes good too.

He's got that Hispanic boy appeal like ODH and Canelo. Remains to be seen if he is able to reach their level boxing-wise. But he'll always be shat on by the male boxing fans which if marketed properly can also equal money.
