My question to the forum is who would win between Mayweather and Lomachenko if they fought around their primes at 135 pounds?
I see a lot of people online making comparisons between these two. Some people say Floyd would win and is the superior fighter because he was the more accomplished pro at 30 years, which is true, while others say Lomachenko would win because he was the better amateur, which is also true.
Floyd at 30 was an Olympic bronze medalist, 37-0 as a professional, with 5 world titles in 5 weight classes.
He stands at 5'8 with a 72 inch reach and statistically has the greatest plus minus ratio in compubox history.
Vasyl at 30 years old is a two time Olympic gold medalist, has 11 wins and 1 loss as a pro, with 3 world titles in 3 weight classes. He stands at 5'7 with a 65 and half inch reach and statistically has the second highest plus minus ratio in compubox history (one place after Floyd)
Who wins? :boxing:
That's true. People vote more honestly when they can remain anonymous. I think some people are just overly concerned with what other people think which is why they want a public poll. I just want an honest poll.
You could post your own poll. No one would mind..
Look how Castillo beat Floyd. Loma brings double that amount of pressure.
Loma by wide UD.
Castillo was 1. A pressure fighter and 2. Much much heavier than Floyd.
Lomachenko is none of those things. He would definitely be smaller, and he'd probably have to out box a guy who's never been outboxed before when the only advantage he MIGHT have is his excellent foot work and even that is only barely.
I do respect his brilliance, doesn't mean I have to agree he'd beat Floyd, though. I just don't envision even his skills being enough to outpoint Floyd or knock him out, especially if we're talking prime Mayweather.
Castillo pretty much beat him but Loma can't? I can't picture it.
i dont know if there were many guys in history who couldve beaten floyd at 130. u wouldve had to put constant pressure on him and thrown tons of punches and hoped u didnt get carved up in the process.
Floyd at the lower weights has a good shot at KOing Loma. I hate Floyd, but it's true. He could crack back then, and Loma has 0 speed advantage over him.
If he is no match for Floyd, why didn't Floyd only lose one amateur fight and win a gold metal in the Olympics? Or two? Why didn't Floyd win a world title in his 3rd fight and a 3rd weight world title in his 12th fight? It's because Floyd's career has been carefully articulated and matched accordingly to avoid risk. He only took fights that had foregone conclusions. Loma is daring to be great.......in a hurry. You should respect his brilliance. Had Floyd have taken his career at this pace, he probably would have 3-4 losses on his record.

LMAO
Mayweather won titles in *5* weight classes.
Wake us when Lomafako goes up to 147 and wins a title there against the top guy...
And? Does that mean Manny's better because he won is 8 weight classes?
Loma may never go to WW and it would make sense because he/s a lot smaller than most all WW's.
But don't let that negate what he's already done in 12 fights. At this rate, he'd be a 9 weight world champ when he has his 36th fight. (just an example)
As much as I'm living in the moment and era of Loma I still haven't forgotten Floyd at the lower weights. I think his hand speed was faster, he had power at the weight, more offensively minded but still great defensively. I'd take Floyd by UD
I give Floyd a slight advantage. Floyd's too smart and can adjust to anybody inside the ring. Floyd can negate Loma's speed and make the fight as boring as it can be.

Last time I checked. Floyd has two wins over Castillo. The first fight was razor close but you can't say Castillo won unless that is what you WANTED to see. Besides, Loma is not as big or as physical as Castillo is and he's a southpaw while Castillo is an orthodox fighter. They are two different styles of fighters.
So far in 13 fights Lomachenko > ahead of floyd by a mile. Not even close. Let's see lomachenko at 30 fights then compare them. People act like floyd ran through everyone and never struggled. Did you guys forget the castillo fights?
I'm not sure how you're measuring them.
Are you talking about their first 13 fights, or their careers up to 30 years old?
If you're talking about their first 13 fights, sure. Lomachenko has mostly everyone beat there, with his unconventional start, is better than SRR, SRL, Duran, Ali, Chavez, Whitaker, etc. But that's not how you measure greats.
If you're talking about Lomachenko's career at 30 years old vs Mayweather's career at 30 years old - Mayweather was a champion in 5 weight classes, Ring/Lineal champion in 3 weight classes, 6x champion, and 12 title defenses.
Prime Floyd (or any Floyd) wouldn't lose to someone smaller than him, physically and weight wise. Even if Lomachenko is as good as Floyd, he's smaller, shorter in height, shorter reach, smaller in weight. If that fantasy fight would've happen the post fight reactions would be the same dreadful "Floyd cherrypicked" comments.
This is irrelevant since Floyd would never fight Loma in their respective primes... but like Floyd never wanted to fight a prime Pacquiao when both were in their respective primes of 2009-2010.
Thats why the self proclaimed "rich coward" Floyd couldn't hold Pac's jockstrap during their respective primes between 2000-2010... PAC simply dwarfed everything that Floyd did because Floyd never had the boxing ballz to fight IN PRIME opponents and Floyd especially avoided Young Gifted Fast IN PRIME African American fighters.
PAC was waaay too much for Floyd and Floyd new it, PAC blazed through recognized IN PRIME future HOF Barerra, Morales, Marquez at the lower weights and wasn't afraid to fight those IN PRIME HOF more than once. PAC dared to be great and did what no other man could do, win titles in 6, 7, and then 8 weight classes. PAC also won Lineal titles in 5 different weight classes which no one else could do.
That's why in the prime for prime era of
2000-2010, it was unanimous decision that PAC was the Greatest Fighter of the Decade and that Era by:
Boxing Writers Assoc of America,
RING magazine (Bible of Boxing), and
WBC (World Boxing Council -the ones with greenbelt)
Loma got ROBBED against Salido...REMEMBER THAT!
****chenko lost to Salido. Remember that.
Loma got ROBBED against Salido... REMEMBER THAT!
Castillo got ROBBED against Floyd...REMEBER THAT!
Be real man, be real.
