nobody f-ucking cares u got disqualified 50 yrs you concussed over rated fireman fighting chump. everything is about roy jones jr did this roy jones did that. while they are at it get max smellerman out too f-ucking company azz kissing yes man,
hbo crew are a bunch of flag cheering biased morons, nothing else
the worst commentary on the planet
Because of rjj. Notice how he makes everything about himself? It's nauseating.
I like Roy as a commentator, he's insightful but has a friendly and easygoing demeanour.
That said, there wasn't really anything in the disputed punch when down. Maybe hit him with a punch a few milliseconds after his knee hit the ground, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the Jones combo on Griffin or even the shot he took at Lemiuex that's in Robby Barret's gif. If you look at it in full speed it's 50/50 whether you'd even notice. Certainly not worth disqualifying him or anything like that.
They really are stupid to compare the sort of punches that happen all the time in boxing as a guy is slumped against the ropes getting lit up, vs a guy taking a clear knee, Roy popping him once, the guy looking up in disbelieve and then Roy popping him a second time. Roy's DQ was deserved. A DQ isn't even worth considering in the Golovkin-Vanes fight.
No fighter throws punches that low without knowing they're hitting a downed fighter. Irrelevant anyway. He did hit him while he was down and it was a foul.
I bet you made excuses when he blatantly hit Lemieux while down too. Lemieux was on his knee before Golovkin even started swinging on that occasion.
its irrelevant lol why so you can continue making false equivalences? hes supposed to stop throwing mid combo and look where his opponents knee is at? thats not reasonable at all. also your argument is crap since fighters duck and bend low all the time so you arent allowed to even swing at them now cause they might have their knee down? this just shows your inherent bias. thats the first thing you go to even though yo know its not reasonable to react that fast especially for someone so slow like ggg!
You've got to be a hardcore Lil G fan to be somehow offended by RJJ and Kellerman mentioning that. Lil G did foul Vanes.
his knee isnt even down as hes winding up the punch. it might have touched literally a fraction of a second before the punch lands and you comparing that to roy jones who hit griffin with a 2 punch combo while he was on a knee hmm ok.
also griffin was giving himself up to take a count and roy still hit him. ggg was in the middle of landing a combo and he's supposed to know his knee touched 1/100 of a second before his punch lands? the only fighter who would even be looking at his opponents knees would be allan green
lol Roy is often the only one who actually tells the story of what is happening and even what will happen in that ring.
Yesterday was a great exemple, when he tells Max it's not good to fight GGG as if you've seen it all before. He correctly stated Vanes needed to respect the power at that early stage in the fight even after having a very good first round.
Roy Jones was the best one there. When Jim and Max tried their best to justify the Vanes cherry pick in the beginning of GGG ring entrance Roy shut that sht down with no mercy.
And as far as the late hit when Vanes went down Roy is again 100% correct. Knee down then punch lands. Are the rules applied equally or what..
And who cares how long ago Roy was disqualified you still have Hagler pissed off about his 1987 loss to SRL.
I guess it's all in how you say it, RJJ knows the game like few do, but he sounds like a bumbling idiot half the time.
He does know a hell of a lot about the sport though he just doesn't know how to string words together that well :lol1:
